Mattsmum2 Thanks! My "device" is a desktop PC with a printer/scanner, My previous way of doing this was to scan a picture in a magazine (say) , in JPEG, open Paint, Crop and re-size, usually down, then copy/'paste to message box.
Not doing this often, tends to blur the memory
Seeing all the postings set me wondering if there's a more efficient way!
.Presumably quicker with an iPhone or iPad.!

Certainly quicker on an iPad. I touch the pic. then click add to photos. On Gransnet click choose file (below the message box)
then Photo library, touch the required photo then use.
