Valentine plans

Has anyone planned an exciting/romantic/sexy evening on Thursday, unbeknown to their partner/husband/lover?
Have you decided on your gift to him/her or is it already wrapped and safely hidden.
E-card or real card?
Have you planned a special outfit in case he springs a surprise dinner at a Michelin starred restaurant?
Will you be cooking a Valentine's £20 dinner for two from a supermarket?
Do tell.
I'll be at my OH's house where he says there will be no expense spared. We won't be having alcohol as neither of us drink and I have given heavy hints about the food I will eat. After 5 years, I think that message has sunk in.
My presents to him are a cashmere sweater and silver cufflinks engraved with his and my initials.
Over to you...

I just have an evening unbridled passion planned. After 52 years together it's all we need to give each other. We have everything else, materially, we need to be happy! gringringrin

I hope you give it to him...the card in your knickers wink then ask him to put them on you. ?

On repeat. grin

Card in the cupboard and there will be afternoon tea at a garden centre before a trip to Ikea hmm. It seems this will be our 53rd Valentines Day together. Not sure how that happened.

I'll have a "meal for two " from M&S just for myself ! As per-

GabriellaG54 Mon 11-Feb-19 22:01:12

Congratulations cornergran and PECS on your long love affairs. I only managed 40 but they were very happy ones. I hope you both enjoy your special days. smile

GabriellaG54 Mon 11-Feb-19 22:04:42

EllanVannin
I've just been looking at the M&S offerings and they look well worthwhile.
Much cheaper and no long journey home from a restaurant. That means you will enjoy two days of pampered dining. Good idea. Enjoy.

Thank you GabriellaG54 It's bloomin' hard work and we are both quite stubborn! But we are better together than apart.

I have offered to babysit for GC so AC can go out.

Romance should be for a lifetime not one day a year ????

Coolgran65 Mon 11-Feb-19 22:36:39

We are having dgc on a sleepover. And another arriving next morning at 6am.

However, I do have a card for dh and a jumper from M & S.

mumofmadboys Mon 11-Feb-19 23:19:09

I have bought a card and some chocolate hearts. Hidden in guest room

GabriellaG54 Mon 11-Feb-19 23:23:46

Yes Coolgran65, I noticed the men's jumpers a few days ago when going to collect an order. Very nice indeed and quite affordable. Lovely colours too and jumpers are always a good choice IMO.
Grandchildren are always your loves too so you'll have two to fuss over. smile

Ahhh...that's kind of you but a pleasure to have the little ones. Love is a flower that we hope blossoms forever.
Sadly, not always the case but we can hopefully foster respect and still be friends.

GabriellaG54 Mon 11-Feb-19 23:32:01

MOMB
I hope for your sake that an unexpected guest doesn't rummage and find them. Anyway, you're sure know as the sheets would be smeared with chocolate. ????

paddyann Mon 11-Feb-19 23:41:45

I always make dinner at home ,hate crowded restaurants full of forced romance. It'll be something simple ,Melon and prawns ,sole in a champagne sauce with new potatoes and veg and a strawberry flan possibly .Chocolates for decoration only ,small heart shapes on the place settings.Usually a nice night ..well I dont get complaints .

Probably babysitting to let the young uns have a romantic evening out

Tooyoungytobeagrandma Tue 12-Feb-19 10:08:49

I have nothing for my OH which is exactly what I have received for 37 out of 38 years. I shall get lots of attention though from my dogs grin

Bunch Tue 12-Feb-19 10:12:57

After 50 years of wedding bliss (!) I'm in the ignore it camp. But for those romantics among you, 'enjoy' as they say.
