The Queen and Prince Philip were married for 73 years.

I wonder how many marriages last that long.

Have any of you had a long marriage?

How I envy them and those with long marriages ! Mine lasted only 25 years (divorce) ..

I’ve been with my husband half that: 36 years. Quite long by today’s standards. If “The Crown” is anything to go by, The Queen and Prince Philip went through a very difficult patch after Charles & Anne were born, but divorce wasn’t an option for them, then. They muscled down & got on with it & lasted another 60 odd years together!

It’ll be 36 for us next month so barely half theirs but we could add another 28 to that if DH lives to the Duke’s age!

40 years for us in August

Gransooz Sat 10-Apr-21 18:17:42

We met 49 years ago in March and at the end of this month will have been married 47 years. ?
Last year we were in lockdown. This year we will be able to go out for a meal. Inside only until 8pm with no alcohol, or outside until 10pm with alcohol. Outside, in Scotland? Brrr, might just have a lovely meal at home with a nice bottle of red?. I’m not an outdoorsy person if it’s cold. ? ?

Witzend Sat 10-Apr-21 18:19:23

It’ll be 47 years in June and I’ve no plans to ditch him. He’s not a bad old bugger really. ?

LauraNorder Sat 10-Apr-21 18:20:17

56 years together in August. 51 married in July. We make each other laugh, he has mellowed me and I have given him some fire, we have now met somewhere in the middle and get on well, most of the time.
I can honestly say that he has been my rock and he says that I have equally been his.
