I am looking forward to attending all my Easter services on my live streaming from my Cathedral . It starts this evening
Maundy Thursday all the way through the Easter.

I love the Good Friday service and always cry at the suffering at the cross where He gave His life on the hill at Calvary for every one of us sinner or saint.
We can be uplifted as He rose again from the tomb once more restored.

Thank-you Annie for your post, may the peace of Christ be with you all and your families this Easter time and always.

Thank you annie. I haven't been to church in years but this is very reassuring.

My church is putting a service online tonight ( usually a service where the vicar washes the feet of some of the congregation symbolising Christ washing the feet of his apostles)

Tomorrow is the Good Friday vigil where the church is stripped of all adornment in grief at the crucifixion

Saturday normally the church would normally be beautifully decorated and a service of anticipation of the Risen Christ

Sunday is Easter Sunday the most important day of the year for all Christians as we celebrate that Christ gave his life for all mankind . “ whoever believeth in me shall have eternal life”

It will be a very strange Easter this year for the many who would attend these services but I will be online in spirit as I was this previous Palm Sunday.

May you all enjoy Easter as best you can whether you believe or not and the Peace of Christ be with you all.

It’s a very strange and sad Holy Week.
This night we would normally be in Church sitting quietly and fulfilling Our Lord’s anguished plea to watch with him one hour. I’m sure many of us will still do this at home by spending one hour remembering him and praying for all people in anguish and distress.

4.

My God, my God, why hast thought forsaken me ?

(He suffered, - physical pain, abandonment by his apostles,
mockery, isolation, darkness which had descended, and even
felt God wasn’t there for him.
He suffered all that man could suffer - for us.

5. I thirst.

His thirst was physical and emotional.

Perhaps those words came back to her in that moment when it must have felt like her heart had been ripped out.

3.

Woman behold thy son, son behold thy mother .

(To his mother and to John, his mother at the foot of the cross
watching his suffering , did she remember Simeon’s words
‘And a sword will pierce your heart’
