I was wondering how many 'we' are now - anyone know?

greenmossgiel Mon 22-Aug-11 16:54:57

We could have a guess Gally? Er...I think 'we're' 602. We should have a virtual prize for the winner! I'm probably way,way out but it won't matter! grin

glammanana Mon 22-Aug-11 17:04:49

Let's try 757 they are my lucky number's green are you ok by the way?

Gally Mon 22-Aug-11 17:20:59

I'll go for 592

greenmossgiel Mon 22-Aug-11 20:01:55

glammanana, that's so kind of you. Yes, I've sort of stepped back a wee bit - sometimes we have to, don't we - and let them all get on with it (while we feel strong enough to do that!) smile

glassortwo Mon 22-Aug-11 21:55:14

893 as good as anything grin

yogagran Mon 22-Aug-11 22:24:44

It's like trying to guess the number of sweets in a jar. I'll go for 923

JosieGransnet (GNHQ) Tue 23-Aug-11 09:23:30

Haha, I like this game - unfortunately you're all far too low, but yogagran was closest. Have some wine, yoga.
There are now around 7000 gransnetters. Yes, I got the right number of zeroes there!

em Tue 23-Aug-11 09:33:30

Thanks for that Josie. I had a little vision of some grans going back over the weeks and doing a 'head-count'! Didn't see this in time to have a guess (maybe you should have waited a bit longer before giving the result!) but I think I'd have gone for 1500 - still way short of the real total!

jangly Tue 23-Aug-11 09:43:01

They don't all post though, do they?

Most of 'em probably only joined to enter the competitions. angry

But still, it'll help to draw in the advertisers.

absentgrana Tue 23-Aug-11 09:45:47

There are probably more posters than you think jangly as I doubt if you look at every single one. I, for example, don't look at knitting as it doesn't interest me and I have nothing useful to contribute, although I'm sure it's a great place for some. Also, there are times when I just read what other people have posted and don't post myself, although those are rare because I usually can't resist sticking my oar in. grin

harrigran Tue 23-Aug-11 10:51:38

Addictive isn't it ? I just pop on to see what people are saying and lo and behold I have been here more than an hour. Like chatting to friends, I will have my say too grin

glassortwo Tue 23-Aug-11 10:59:27

More than I thought, just as well they all dont post I would never get off having to read them all.......... smile

Gally Tue 23-Aug-11 12:45:06

That's amazing - 7000! I don't read quite a lot of posts but I really didn't imagine there were so many, but then I was always useless at maths and statistics and stuff like that wink

Anne58 Tue 23-Aug-11 23:27:01

Good to hear that GN is doing well!

I do post but I don't get on here as often as I might like, work 9 to 5, sometimes (like today ) travelling to meetings with clients, can be a long day, plus feel I should spend time with dh, who is currently home alone most days.

I also agree with absentgrana in that there are some threads that I don't look at and feel that there is probably nothing I could contribute on that topic.

And on that note, I really should be away to bed, a few pages of my book, and hopefully be able to sleep through without the bloody nightsweats and bad dreams!

yogagran Wed 24-Aug-11 11:26:48

Where are they all..... just lurking around listening to all of us?

Zephrine Wed 24-Aug-11 11:39:36

Probably with this look on their faces shock

absentgrana Wed 24-Aug-11 11:48:04

I suspect these looks occur more frequently smile grin but most of all confused

My last bottle of wine lasted two weeks. Yesterday I tried to buy a bottle at the local shop on my walk back from taking DD to school — just to support the village shop, you understand! Of course, it was only just after nine o'clock so "the girl" (it was a girl, 18 is my guess) couldn't let me have it until ten o'clock. I only pass the shop at nine o'clock so they've lost that custom. Daft when I spend so little in that shop because they don't have much of what I want. And the question is, what's so very different about ten o'clock as compared to nine o'clock? Mad world.

There's still no wine in the house and won't be now until the weekend. So nyah again, jangs! smile
