What's your favourite perfume?

Anyone remember - Californian Poppy?? - Woolies late 1960's??- sheer indulgence!

I have worn Chanel Allure for years and still love it -- but was just reminded of Ma Griffe by Carven - - I was given that in hospital for the birth of my second child in 1973 and have not seen it anywhere for years.! - Thanks for the reminder!
My Mum used to wear Coty L'Aimant and I go and smell it in Boots now - just to be reminded of her -- wierdo that I am!

Glassortwo, 4711 is having a resurgence, plus ca change! My mum used to wear Nuit de Paris or something like that, but my Gran always 'scented' her hankies with 4711.

When I was younger I was an air stewardess and one of the perfumes we 'stocked' was Miss Dior, tho now I find it quite cloying. I steer well clear of all the celeb perfumes, sadly none of them have the cachet or class of any of the older perfumes for me.

My favourite perfume of all time and my 'signature' is Coco Chanel, which is one of the few perfumes which do not resemble cat's pee. Everyone loves it.

But I have been bought Flowers by Kenzo, which I love for everyday. It's different to Coco, and, in spite of its name, not a bit girly or sweet. And I believe not that expensive. It's sort of sophisticated day perfume.

Oh God, I just love perfume but have to stick to those which do not have every Tomcat in the neighbourhood following me! (Does anyone remember an amazing frarance by the American cosmetic house Harriet Hubbard Ayer - now that WAS class)

Like Jenjax I am a Miss Dior girl but I have been using it and nothing else for about 45 years. 'Ve tried other perfumes in department stores and at airports but have never been tempted to buy any of them. Just been given a bottle of matching body lotion - sheer luxury.

Most perfumes cause me to have an allergic reaction and set off my asthma. One of my lovely foster sons bought me a large bottle of Coco Mademoiselle last year as a leaving gift and I find I can wear it without any ill effects. Sadly, I've somehow mislaid the bottle and no doubt it will turn up in five years or so smelling like vinegar.

I love perfume and wear it daily it is my only luxury. I began with Miss Balmain and Chanel no 5. My husband bought me Guerlains Mitsouko soon after we were married and it remains a favourite along with Aqua Allegoria Orange again by Guerlain . I love Dior Farenheit and Opium (mens cologne really suits me?) I am currently wearing Clinique Aromatics Elixr.

Chanel No 5 - no contest for feling like a lady and Opium for feeling like -well I'm too much of a lady to describe it!

i'm off on Eurostar and have just put a load of 4711 sachets into my bag-Boots still sell it and 4711 cologne conquers all stickiness. I love 24 Faubourg

Sortilege by Le Galion, sadly discontinued, but Red Door by Elizabeth Arden resembles it. In the 60s, I used to go through Lewis's department store every lunchtime to get myself sprayed with Sortilege to eke out supplies between birthdays!

I have used Miss Dior, (not Miss Dior Cherie thank you) for about 45 years and still love it, not so easy to get hold off but available online. Was a bit disconcerted to read a while back that it is Ann Widdecombe's favourite too,
she is definitely not one of my favourite people!!

I loved Blasé by Max Factor and Calèche by Hermes.
My current favourite is Light Blue by D & G.

I too wore Charlie then when I was regnant with my first baby in 1972 I couldn't stand it...I'm sure it would still make me feel sick today.

I used to wear the original Chloe for years (forgot that one)

I remember when I first started work in 1967, I wore Pink Mink. I also liked Tosca. Has anyone heard of them? Also French Almond seemed to smell lovely on everyone else, but as usual on me it was 'burnt rubber' again!

I love Body Shop White Musk too.

Kiku was in a round orange bottle. I remember being given it one Christmas many years ago and it was my first bottle of 'grown up' perfume.

Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker is one of my favourites but I really love Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel but can't afford to buy it. I bought myself a sample of it on ebay after smelling it on my daughter in law. Actually the little spray samples are about £4-£5 are ideal to keep in your handbag and last a long time.

I used to love Body Shop White Musk, always reminded me of holidays.

My favourite perfume is Calvin Klein - Euphoria. I dislike Lulu and can spot it a mile off because my nose starts itching and going all crusty (Enough information, I know).

Charlie always reminds me of my 1st daughter's birth - my Mum brought it to the hospital the day she was born. Favourites now are Light Blue by Dolce and Gabbana (which I wore to all 3 daughters' weddings so it always brings them to mind), Issey Miyake and Coco by Chanel. I loved Anais Anais but it doesn't seem to love me any more.

My favourites are Amarige and Opium.

I used to like Chanel no 5 - my sailor husband used to bring me it. I also loved any kind of apple blossom products. Alas, this is all just memories now: I lost my sense of smell at age 42. I had tests to find out why, including a brain scan, but no reason was ever found.
