What comes first ......?

Just a bit confused, having received this advice in an email from Superdrug:
'You should wash your hair with shampoo, then apply the mask before conditioning. Shampoo opens up the hair cuticles, allowing the moisture from the mask to be absorbed and bonds to be rebuilt. Applying conditioner then seals in the goodness at the cuticle'.
Now I always thought that the mask came at the end of the process. Any advice welcome - scientific or otherwise!

I always put the mask on first, sometimes overnight or half an hour before I wash my hair. Seems to leave it in good condition.

Well if you apply the mask after shampooing and before conditioning, be careful it doesn’t get wet and stick to your mouth. Much harder to breathe in a wet mask.
It depends of course, on whether you are alone in the shower or socially distancing ...

(Sorry ... couldn’t resist)??

Think it’s an extended more gloopy conditioner,
