Fed up of jeans

I wear jeans nearly every day and am sick of them now. I want some trousers that are not jeggings or leggings or anything old ladyish. Any suggestions where I can get these please? I've looked online and in M&S, Primark and a few other places, but I have seen nothing I like.

I’ve got 2 pairs of these. The reason I have 2 is because when I bought the first pair I liked them so much I bought the second in case the line ended.

They look just like jeans though, MerylStreep? (V nice)

M & S have a wide range of trousers at the moment. I’m not usually a fan of their trousers but this winter’s selection is very good and not expensive.

I just looked at the M&S collection (not the other brands that pop up on their website) and they are all wide leg ok if you like them baggy.
Have you looked at Tu they also have a lot of wide leg and joggers but also some nice cotton fitted trousers in lots of colours.

Seasalt do good trousers. As corduroy is very ‘in’ at the moment look for that. Toast do nice slightly short and wide trousers too. Bit expensive but will last a good while

I've just bought two pairs of corduroy trousers to go away on holiday this weekend. The plum coloured ones from White Stuff are far superior and softer, but more expensive.

M0nica Wed 27-Oct-21 13:07:03

Lands End are good for trousers

MiniMoon Wed 27-Oct-21 13:33:50

I bought some really lovely corduroy trousers from Seasalt earlier this year. They are side fastening with 3 buttons. I kept them as they fit me so well and are warmer than jeans, but the buttons are a faff.

White Stuff have 20% off everything this week.

I bought corduroy trousers this year - not again! They are magnets for dog hair. Blue denims are the only ones I can wear without looking (more) like a batty old lady

PollyTickle Wed 27-Oct-21 17:41:18

ooh Josianne, I used to love cords, I'd forgotten that they exist. I'll be ordering a pair of those plum ones as soon as I finish typing.

Thanks for reminding me Tizliz, I've just packed this to remove dog fur!

MayBeMaw Wed 27-Oct-21 18:11:36

Tizliz I wear cord jeans, I have a (mostly);white dog.
Invest in one of those fluff remover thingies.

Tizliz Wed 27-Oct-21 19:38:10

I have a few of these but the dogs love to chew them!

I'd forgotten all about cords too. Used to love them. Thanks for all the suggestions girls smile

Tu had a pair of black/very dark grey jumbo cords. I was tempted as I find excellent value.

Aha ! Thanks for useful tip.

Tapered/harem type, Next used to do them in a range of prints, also m&s rather staid, but less baggy on the hips. Hate the flapping around the ankles styles.

nadateturbe Thu 28-Oct-21 11:01:40

Love White Stuff, they have some great 'stuff' atm. Lovely cords too but I bought 2 pairs from M&S last year hardly worn which look very similar and washed well.
I still like jeans and thick leggings with but not all the time.
Hmm I'm tempted by the plum colour....

You could look at some of the outdoors brands - RAB, Craghopper, etc www.gooutdoors.co.uk/womens/clothing/trousers-and-shorts/

Unfortunately too short for my legs.

Yesterday I found some purple velvet trousers in M&S sale shop. They are still sort of jeansshape but a bit wider than my normal denim jeggings so very pleased with them.

Madashell Thu 28-Oct-21 12:02:11

Lands End Starfish range v comfortable and can dress up or down. Straight leg more flattering. My grumble about sizing is that 1. Sizings never accurate between manufacturers 2. I have a smaller waist and larger thighs so if I buy trousers to fit on the hips the waist flaps about, needing adjustment which is not easy. I hate buying clothes and wtf has happened to the colour range or lack of? We women of a certain age who are not ready for crimplene or old lady styles are so badly let down by the clothing industry. Even the quality of M&S has reduced.

I like Cotswold Collection trousers - admittedly they are expensive but the last for years and years. There's a choice of wool, cotton, jersey and cord. Colours are nice too and they have co-ordinating tops too. They are online.
