For some months I have been conscientiously refusing to ‘Accept all’ cookies on websites. I diligently click on ‘Find out more’ each time and turn off / refuse everything in sight (ex essential ones if the site is interactive). Does it make any difference does anyone think? Can my deselecting be overridden and ignored? I do it in the hope that my search interest won’t be broadcast to advertisers. Maybe I am plain dotty.

I accept all cookies - I don’t even know what cookies are - I was hoping to receive a huge, huge box of biscuits by now - poor joke ?

That would be a bonus certainly!
I’m not sure what they are, but what they do is alert other interested parties to your interest in whatever the subject might be. ‘They’ like to build a kind of profile of someone’s interests so they can be targeted with more advertising. The explanations look rather alarming so I’m hoping for some advice.
