Following the suicide of a participant, there have been calls for the show to be axed on the grounds that it exploits vulnerable people.
But don’t a lot of programmes do that?
What about the harrowing interviews of people whose lives have been ripped apart by tragedy, crime or natural disaster?
If the Jeremy Kyle show is axed, shouldn’t the broadcast media take a long hard look at themselves in the way they report other things?
