Oh dear my DGS was right !

“Grandma, have you seen that advert with the jumping willies?”

I thought....he’s 9 ....typical boy..... silly sense of humour, but really?

I have no words.

grandtanteJE65 Fri 26-Apr-19 10:57:34

I suspect there may be a virus on the mirror's site, as my browser automatically shuts down when I try to view the advert.

From the static picture I can quite see why a child would think they were willies, not thumbs and fingers.

ickle Fri 26-Apr-19 11:01:25

I thought the same as your grandson. It took me a while to realise what they were!

Growing0ldDisgracefully Fri 26-Apr-19 11:06:07

Some might give this a thumbs-up, I would imagine!

Legs55 Fri 26-Apr-19 11:12:02

Haha I haven't seen that advert but yes my 9 yr old DGS would say the same, it was my first thought when I saw it on the linkgrin

gillybob Fri 26-Apr-19 11:31:03

Sorry the link doesn’t work so good but the advert shows “willies” ( well thumbs) jumping about ! My grandson ( like most 9 year old boys I suspect ) thinks it’s hysterical grin

Sar53 Fri 26-Apr-19 11:34:01

I saw this ad on the tv and I admit I had to look twice at it !!!!

Craftycat Fri 26-Apr-19 12:06:50

look just like thumbs to me. Never even suspected willies. They are obviously thumbs- they even have nails!
Mind you my DGS would probably find them funny too.

Juliet27 Fri 26-Apr-19 12:11:16

I thought willies too when I first saw the ad.

Willow500 Fri 26-Apr-19 13:24:57

Yes I thought the same when I first saw it - probably it was meant to make us do a double take grin

breeze Fri 26-Apr-19 14:22:13

Ha ha ! Funny. I hadn't seen the ad on tv but looking at the link goodness me they do like a bit like them.

From what I can remember blush

EllanVannin Fri 26-Apr-19 14:34:38

I didn't notice at first as I imagined finger puppets----until it appeared again then I just rolled my eyes at the innuendo's which seem to be irresistible these days. Pathetic.

Eglantine21 Fri 26-Apr-19 17:42:59

I was horrified by all those dismembered thumbs. Whoever thought that was a good idea.........

ninathenana Fri 26-Apr-19 18:16:55

Hadn't seen this before.

I can see how children would find this funny. It's just another daft ad to me. DH and I often wonder at the minds of the ad agency staff.

seadragon Fri 26-Apr-19 21:36:05

Yes Eglantine - amputated thumbs...why?!

BradfordLass72 Fri 26-Apr-19 23:43:24

seadragon asked:
Yes Eglantine - amputated thumbs...why?!

Answer: Because they look like willies of course - and are meant to look like willies.

Eglantine21 Sat 27-Apr-19 00:08:06

Circumcised ones.

Sorry blush

BradfordLass72 Sat 27-Apr-19 06:56:50

Try this one bradfordlass you might have to watch the full Pokemon trailer first though?

kittylester Sat 27-Apr-19 08:09:31

They look like thumbs to me!

NfkDumpling Sat 27-Apr-19 08:12:00

I tend to mentally switch off when ads come on so hadn’t noticed it. I shall now!

jusnoneed Sat 27-Apr-19 08:14:03

Not seen it myself but I did notice last night that the old foreign wedding one with Martin Freeman was being shown, wonder if all the remarks about the "thumbs" have changed their mind about showing it lol.

BradfordLass72 Sat 27-Apr-19 21:43:42

gillybob Thank you. What a laugh! smile

I am confirmed in my suspicions, the ad features thumb-willies and other sexual images without a doubt. Nothing is chance in advertising, not even thumbs. Remember the Cadbury's Flake ad which caused such a stir?

gillybob I didn't get Pokemon but an American, irritating ad for something called Grammerly, which is found on pretty much all YouTube clips watched here.
