So fed up with the (mainly) garbage on TV just now that I’ve downloaded Yes, Minister from years ago. How well casted it was with Paul Eddington, Nigel Hawthorne and Derek Fowlds as Jim Hacker, Humphrey Appleby and Bernard Woolley.

Had forgotten just how funny it was - anyone else a fan?

I thought it was very cleverly done. I think the secretary played by Nigel Hawthorne was running the country via the PM. Very funny.

Very funny and still rings true!

Yes, what a fab programme. My favourite episode is the one where the French want to give the Queen a puppy and it threatens to turn into a diplomatic incident ?.

It was funny (and slightly disturbing) to see how the secretary manipulated the PM to do exactly what he, the secretary, wanted.

But in the end I think the PM got the upper hand: the episode where Sir Humphrey is locked out and runs from window to window, almost in tears, is my particular favourite.

I loved this series. I can believe it’s still funny and pertinent.

I loved this series as well, an excellent cast and so true. Still makes me laugh,
