died suddenly today aged 93. The list of his films and co actors is truly impressive. He was forced into Nazi Youths as a kid, and served as an SS officer in the war, but he deserted and nearly lost his life because of this.

Which of his films do you remember?

He was married to a cousin of mine for many years, and had 2 children with her, both actors too. His son Hardy Krüger Jnr looks just like him.

Very sad news, RIP. Very much enjoyed the films, The Wild Geese, Flight of the Phoenix, A Bridge Too Far and The Secret of Santa Vittoria which starred another late great favourite of mine Anthony Quinn. I also liked The Defector.

I mentioned him recently to my 44 year old daughter, she had never heard of him, but when shown images of him on the internet, she agreed that he was delectable.

This thread has promoted me to read up on him, thanks.

I saw him in The One that Got Away when I was about 12 or 13 and fell instantly in love.
