Ruben and Clive are stars of a new series away from the Yorkshire farm.

Thanks for the reminder mokryna, I saw that advertised last week and meant to set my tv box to record it.

Rueben reminds me so much of DH when I first met him. Agricultural Engineering was always his first love even though his career eventually morphed into farm management.

I don’t see much of a future for this programme though. Dear old Clive’s as dull as ditchwater away from the farm and there’s no charm without all the other children.

There’s limited appeal in restored farm machinery and he’s no Fred Dibnah I’m afraid.

Gosh yes ... it is pretty boring watching 3 young people driving and mending machinery!!! How many episodes can that be sustained?!

mokryna Tue 06-Dec-22 23:30:40

It thought it was lovely to see three young people making their way in the world doing everyday basic work without the last in hand held gadgets. Just the complete opposite of Sugar’s lot.

I agree mokryna. 3 hard working teenagers and not a selfie or trout pout in sight. I’m looking forward to seeing them make a success of their business.

Clive is looking well. He looks like he’s had a makeover since the last series.

Mr. B loves watching people restoring old machinery. He’s a retired engineer and loves anything like this!

A great programme, far from boring. Can't wait for the next episode.

Clive seems such a lovely man.

Glad to see Clive looking so well and great he is in business with Reuben a lovely lad, but I have to admit to finding it a trifle boring. But that’s me. It’s a harmless programme with no bitching unlike the rest of the world.

We’ve also enjoyed Canal Boat Diaries which I suppose is a similar genre.

Coming from a farming background, (Norfolk/Cambs., rather than Yorkshire!), I've always followed this family & enjoyed the earlier programmes.
I do hope this one works, & wish Clive & Reuben well.

These young people have their feet on the ground. I had to admire how they got this huge old digger off its tracks working again.

Floradora9 Wed 07-Dec-22 21:49:32

I lasted 5 minutes .

They are indeed admirable young people and I too wish them well - but a whole series on them digging!!??

I was worried about the safety of the whole thing - not a hard hat in sight, and mending huge machinery while is is on a steep slope seems a bit risky to me.

I watch it for 5 minutes. It was too dull to me.
