I'm inspired to ask by another thread.

Restricting myself to those I sat right through and didn't turn off/walk out of, I'd like to start the roll of shame with

Braveheart
Pretty Woman
The Postman Always Rings Twice (the Jack Nicholson/Jessica Lange remake not the original)
Top Gun
Beetlejuice

Blondiescot Tue 28-Mar-23 16:10:27

Love Actually
Titanic

GrannyGravy13 Tue 28-Mar-23 16:15:13

The shape of water
The Favourite

SachaMac Tue 28-Mar-23 16:18:27

Confessions of a Window Cleaner
Disney’s Strange World (even the kids wanted to leave)

BlueBelle Tue 28-Mar-23 16:24:15

The ‘greatest Showman’ I hated every moment of it, was so close to walking out
‘Turner’ with Timothy Spall the most boring film ever

The shape of water
The Favourite

The Favourite
I couldn't get past the first 15 minutes.
I fell asleep during The Alamo - was it any good?
Eyes Wide Shut
American Beauty

Yammy Tue 28-Mar-23 16:27:53

Blazing saddles
Wolf of Wall Street
Withernale and I
The shape of water

aggie Tue 28-Mar-23 16:28:12

The Banshees of wherever , it was beyond dire

Mollygo Tue 28-Mar-23 16:28:29

I’ve counted those I sat through because I was with a group or not at my home, but not those where it was on as background, but I found something more interesting to do.
Soldier Blue
Braveheart
Titanic.
The shape of Water
A man Called Otto

Hithere Tue 28-Mar-23 16:30:05

Barbarella - still traumatized but never laughed so much in my life

TwiceAsNice Tue 28-Mar-23 16:34:53

I love Pretty Woman, Braveheart and Topgun

My worst are:
Anything with Will Farrell in especially Elf

The Batman movies

Any slapstick ( I hate it!)

Bridget Jones ( both daughters howled with laughter when the first one came out, I was bored out of my mind)

Yangste1007 Tue 28-Mar-23 16:45:09

District 9
Braveheart
A Clockwork Orange
The Exorcist
The Favourite

Gone with the wind. So much hype and an utter let down.

Granmarderby10 Tue 28-Mar-23 17:19:52

Gangs of New York - got so far…

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

Doctor Doolittle (original)1917 - anticlimactic

The Favourite ( NOT!)

Most 80s macho man type crap eg Arnie, Tom Cruise,

Sylvester Stalone. ( loved Twins though)

Kramer v Kramer ( just nauseating)

Medicine Man ( Sean Connery) I actually nodded off in the cinema.

'Crouching Tiger, hidden Dragon' and Julie Christie's 'Darling' rush to mind.

MaizieD Tue 28-Mar-23 17:23:22

Phantom of the Opera.

It wasn't my choice. Music very boring and the sets looked so cheap.

Kate1949 Tue 28-Mar-23 17:24:22

La La Land
2001 A Space Odyssey
Les Miserables

Spring to mind.

Granmarderby10 Tue 28-Mar-23 17:26:03

Sorry accidentally deleted 1917 when editing.
It was truly one of the most anticlimactic films.
Where-as Doctor Doolittle was merely tiresome.

gulligranny Tue 28-Mar-23 17:29:00

The remake of Psycho with Vince Vaughan - can't believe they made it, can't believe I sat through it.

Mulholland Drive, which seems to get raves but which I thought was pretentious and incomprehensible. Likewise American Beauty.

The remake of Little Women with Florence Pugh et al - abysmal casting of several roles, and who on earth thought that Timothee Chalamet could ever be Laurie?

Kate1949 Tue 28-Mar-23 17:31:57

I would add most Rom Coms, Bridget Jones and the like.
Also The Bridges of Madison County.

Grammaretto Tue 28-Mar-23 17:33:32

Some of these you mentioned I liked but not wolf of wall street
David Bowie movie ( a let down)
I went to see a movie called the Summit hoping it would be like Everest and mountain climbing.

It wasn't.

Sago Tue 28-Mar-23 17:35:12

The Banshees of Inisherin, I thought it would reconnect me with my Irish roots😬.
It was dreadful IMHO.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 28-Mar-23 17:48:25

I forgot about The Greatest Showman, I just cannot see what all the hype was about.

BlueBelle Tue 28-Mar-23 17:51:46

I hated the greatest showman Grannygravey couldn’t wait to get home
I didn’t enjoy clockwork orange either Yangtze

Galaxy Tue 28-Mar-23 17:52:25

Waiting to Exhale ( I think early nineties), Pretty Woman and Lost in Translation. So bad.
