gaynor faye, larry lamb.... there are 4 episodes.

I’m planning to watch that - it sounds interesting from the trailers on radio. Also has Samantha Bond and Kevin Whatley.

Will give it a try….nothing else on.

Salti Mon 04-Sep-23 19:38:01

I've put it on to tape.

Salti

I've put it on to tape.

I've just realised what archaic systems are still my "normal".
Let's jump forward a few decades.......I will copy it to the hard drive, after the first episode I will decide if it is worth copying the rest.

This is really good. I was shouting, ‘Go to the police’ at the telly and then……

Georgesgran Mon 04-Sep-23 22:21:32

Unfortunately, I’ve just started watching it on +1 and a main character is played by Robert James Collier - one of the worst actors in my mind - just a mumbling Mancunian in whatever role he has.

Charleygirl5 Mon 04-Sep-23 22:23:23

So far so good, I will certainly watch the next episode.

Maggymay Mon 04-Sep-23 22:24:47

I really enjoyed it looking forward to the next episode.

I’ve just googled him as I couldn’t put my finger on what else he’d been in.

Of course, he was Barrow in Downton Abbey!!

Poppyred Mon 04-Sep-23 22:35:36

Shame we have to wait a week for next episode….

Attlee Mon 04-Sep-23 22:44:23

Oh we enjoyed it, I also couldn't put my finger on who the son was and convinced myself he'd been on Coronation Street!
Anyway, looking forward to seeing the next episode

storynanny Mon 04-Sep-23 22:51:26

He was on Corrie as well as Downton
He was a Connor, related in marriage so way to Carla

Yes me too!!
Glad we recorded it so we could whizz through the adverts. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

Larry Lamb didn’t have a very big part did he? 🤣

Agreed. Not keen on Adil Ray either, I don’t rate him as an actor at all.

Greenfinch Tue 05-Sep-23 08:43:45

Really enjoyed it. Straightforward storyline which was easy to follow. Looking forward to next week.

Doodledog Tue 05-Sep-23 09:08:55

I enjoyed it too. I was quite surprised, as often Ch 5 dramas are disappointing, even when they have a good cast. I didn’t realise we had to wait for the next episode though. Is it not on My5? I much prefer to watch a series over a day or two than wait a week between episodes.

henetha Tue 05-Sep-23 10:30:33

I quite enjoyed this and will stick with it. It drove me mad trying to remember where I had seen that actor before, so thank you all for putting me out of my misery grin

Smileless2012 Tue 05-Sep-23 10:36:59

I thought it was quite good so will watch again next week.

crazyH Tue 05-Sep-23 10:40:05

Enjoyed it - must remember to continue watching next Monday

Doodledog Tue 05-Sep-23 11:33:13

I might wait till the end and watch the rest on My5. The odds on my being available every Monday evening for four weeks are slim, and as I say, I don't like a whole week's gap between hour-long episodes now I am used to being able to 'binge' and see the whole thing.

Calendargirl Tue 05-Sep-23 11:37:13

It’s great if they space the episodes out on a weekly basis, as that is an indication of how good a series is.

If it’s uploaded all at once, often means it’s a bit mediocre.

My opinion only of course.

Juniper1 Tue 05-Sep-23 11:52:01

I know it was filmed in Ireland, does anyone know where this family is supposed to be living?
