Sunny Side Up is the second book in the Willow Cottage trilogy by Clare Cassy. To celebrate its release, we're giving 10 lucky gransnetters the chance to win a copy of the book.
Milly Henderson has just turned sixty. While her friends mark retirement with the obligatory world cruise, Milly’s golden years look set to lose their sheen. Her dream of putting her feet up and retiring to sunnier climes has been snatched away and she finds herself having to think about making a living, single-handedly, for the first time in forty years. Running a B&B is the perfect answer. She can live where she works and work where she lives.
But never knowing who you are inviting into your house is a worry and along with the gift of a pet pig and a resident ghost, Milly has to contend with a whole host of colourful and often unpredictable guests. Can she stick the course?
The Willow Cottage trilogy follows the fictional stories of three consecutive owners of Willow Cottage - an imposing sixteenth century, sixteen-bedroom property in West Sussex, which they run as a B&B. It’s a big lifestyle change for each of them, as they all buy the property with fresh hopes for the future. The trilogy is based on a real-life house bought by the author’s mother, who ran it very successfully as a B&B for many years. Each book in the trilogy can be read on its own or as part of the series.
The Willow Cottage series touches on many problems people face today, such as loneliness, disappointment and betrayal, lack of money, ageing parents and single parenthood.
Sunny Side Up and the rest of the Willow Cottage trilogy is available to buy online from Amazon.
