Kids book of the month April 2015

When dad showed me the universeWhen Dad Showed Me the Universe, a charming tale of discovery and the bond between father and son, is this month's pick for kids' book of the month.

Sometimes the most important things are right under your nose... Sweden's answer to Roald Dahl, Ulf Stark writes a classic story packed with his trademark humour.

Dad wants to show his son something very special: the universe. Along the way, they learn that sometimes the journey is more important than the destination, and sometimes the biggest lessons happen when you least expect them.

With clean, beautiful illustrations by Eva Eriksson, When Dad Showed Me the Universe will delight young readers who are just discovering their own universe.

Since his first book, Nutcases and Norms, Ulf Stark has written around 30 books for children and young adults, as well as a number of film, TV and theatre scripts. He has won many prizes in Sweden and internationally. His books have been translated into more than 20 languages and he has twice been nominated for the Hans Christian Andersen prize.

Eva Eriksson was born in Halmstad 1949. She is one of the best-loved illustrators in Sweden, whose awards include the Astrid Lindgren prize and the August award.

When Dad Showed Me the Universe is available from all good book sellers.
