Chocolate cake recipe, nice and moist from pamgran
Ingredients55g (2oz) margarine
115g (4oz) caster sugar
2 tbsp syrup
170g (6oz) plain flour
1 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp cocoa
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
1/4 pint milk
Method1. Cream the fat, sugar, and syrup.
2. Add egg, beat well. Add vanilla essence. Sieve in the flour, baking powder, cocoa and salt, mixing to to a thick batter with the milk with the soda added to the last milk.
3. Bake in two greased and floured 18cm (7") tins and sandwich together with chocolate butter icing. Or bake as one cake in a 22cm (9") tin or a loaf tin.
4. Bake in oven at 190C/375F Gas mark5 for 25-30 mins.
