I went to Slimming World from May 2010 until May this year. (I only stopped going because I had to cut down on outgoings, and it meant saving almost £20 per month.)
I am 5'2" and when I started I weighed 10st 9lbs. Not overweight as such, but I was very conscious of the increasing size of my backside and thighs!
Some of the lessons and tips that I picked up have stayed with me, for example when mashing potatoes or swede, I use a small quantity of vegetable stock, rather than butter, dry frying lean mince for spag bol, shepherds pie etc, then putting it into a colander to drain any fat.
I am still 5'2" (not surprisingly) and now weigh around 9st 3lbs.( I only weigh myself once a week, a work colleague weighs herself daily, which I think is borderline obsessive). I am not fanatical about what I do or don't eat, if I fancy a cake or a pudding, I have it!
However, despite the loss of nearly 1.5 st, my legs are still, from hip to knee, a most unattractive lumpy, cellulite ridden zone.
Any advice, much apppreciated!
