Light-hearted?

'Light-hearted'??? Anyone who has the slightest idea that domestic violence is incredibly common would never dream of saying such a thing.

It's crass, and frankly outrageous. They are obviously crazy and doing that very annoying tactic where they pretend to apologise but actually defend their original idea.

Why can't they just apologise and say this was a huge error, full stop?

There was a terribly good short educational film on with the adverts at the cinema last week, aimed primarily at abusive young men [and lets not forget that men can be the subject of abuse as well, and are even less likely to ask for help]. I think the aformentioned t shirt is abhorrent and, if I'd seen it in the shop myself would have complained.

I cannot imagine how any sane person could dream up such a ghastly garment, have the design accepted, manufacturerd and offered for sale in Topshop. It makes me want to vomit!

I can't believe that anyone selling a shirt like that thought it was a good idea! Sometimes 'smacking the wife around a bit' is said in a so-called amusing way - by men of course. Although men can be the subject of abuse it is normally women and children are for obvious reasons

Talking of offensive t shirts - I also saw a link to this one today uk.lifestyle.yahoo.com/blogs/yahoo-lifestyles/nothing-taste-good-skinny-feels-kids-t-shirts-180059435-66.html (aimed at very young girls and saying "nothing tastes as good as skinny feels" - horrified is an understatement. What sort of mother would ever think about buying that?

Makes your blood boil! Sickened to think that anything like this could ever be thought of as 'light-hearted'. Surely no woman in her right mind would buy this T-shirt for her boyfriend and if any man bought it for himself....well, who would want to be h is girlfriend?

supernana - absolutely. Not cute in the slightest. Dangerous and irresponsible. I have also heard of babygros which say things like "Don't feed me, future model". Obviously the baby would be far too young to know what message it was sporting but older children who saw it would certainly understand

One of the worst t.shirts I have ever seen was on a little girl it read,If you think I'm sexy you should see my Mum. The child was about 2yrs old. Surely anyone thinking a small child is sexy is a paedophile !

By definition GrannyHilly. Whatever made an adult by such a garment for a little girl? Maybe they were illiterate – that's the only excuse I can think of. This all so sick-making.

Sometime's I don't think literacy come's into it absentgrana I think it is Jeremy Kyle Syndrom that play's alot on the mind's of the mother's who buy clothe's of that nature for their babie's.

It sounds appalling, but I think illiteracy may have something to do with it. "Sexy" nowadays has little left of its literal meaning. I once heard a man describe his new-born daughter as "sexy". I am sure he did not mean that literally, but it appalled me just the same.
