Where does it all go?

A friend and I were having a 'day around the shops' recently - one of the shops being Primark. This shop seems to be full to the gills with hundreds and hundreds of clothes and that is just one shop. As the seasons and styles change - what happens to all these clothes? The same for all the clothes in other chains - they can't all end up in TK Max! This is a genuine question, friend and I keep saying what do they do with it all - landfill, Eastern Bloc countries, back to India. I'd be grateful if anyone could tell me sand I could then shut friend up as she says it everytime we go shopping and not just clothes shops either

dp I think aalot of the stuff you find in the Primark kind of shop's are what you would call throw away fashion with trend's changing so quickly the younger one's want to be up to date all the time and these type of shop's can provide this at a very reasonable cost,I would imagine the turnover is enormous and that a lot of their over run's are recycled into the next trend or adapted as necessary.Maybe a lot is donated to charity's as I know that quite a few charity's receive gift's from big Company's as BHS and The Shopping Channel on TV they both donate over run's that are left after sale's etc to Cancer Research.
