Grannies are only cute on TV. In real life, they,re like Oxfam shops on legs. smile

rosienanna Fri 04-Nov-11 18:19:00

now Michael i do hope that was said tongue in cheek? i manage to mix a bit of Oxfam AND high fashion...and i'm told i rock..for a nanna..

absentgrana Fri 04-Nov-11 18:20:04

Michael do try to be original if you're going to make a short post. In fact, try to say something interesting if you're going to make a long post . Btw should grannies be cute and why? Discuss.

HildaW Fri 04-Nov-11 18:21:23

Oh dear Michael.
Oxfam shops are jolly useful, they serve a great purpose and raise money. Can the same be said for you?

HildaW Fri 04-Nov-11 18:22:42

Absent.....too true, I'd hate to thought cute. Seductive and damned hot would be much better!

GoldenGran Fri 04-Nov-11 18:22:59

I don't like"cute", it feels patronising.I,m Oxfam mixed with chic and individuality, that's how i like to see myself anyway!

gracesmum Fri 04-Nov-11 18:28:35

Who is being criticised here - Grannies? Oxfam? How sweeping and disparaging at the same time. How patronising is the "cute" reference. Are you a DS/SIL/or GS Michael? Just so that I know which stereotype to apply to you. angry

greenmossgiel Fri 04-Nov-11 18:41:24

OOO-er, Michael! Are you trying to say that we're very highly thought-of (as Oxfam is)? hmm

GoldenGran Fri 04-Nov-11 18:44:39

....and giving, charitable and caring. Thank you Michael.

GoldenGran Fri 04-Nov-11 19:11:46

jingle Fri 04-Nov-11 19:13:25

The Bart Simpson one is best Golden grin

harrigran Fri 04-Nov-11 19:13:49

Oh I say ! Cute is not a word I have heard used to describe grannies. I have been called a few names and I am pleased to say some quite flattering ones.

jingle Fri 04-Nov-11 19:14:02

scroll along

jingle Fri 04-Nov-11 19:14:38

I wouldn't mind being cute. blush

yogagran Fri 04-Nov-11 19:23:29

Are you married to a Grannie Michael ??

jingle Fri 04-Nov-11 19:32:04

Michael is a grandad poster.

And we know what grandads are like. hmm grin

greenmossgiel Fri 04-Nov-11 19:33:33

And he seems to have wandered off somewhere......? hmm

rosienanna Fri 04-Nov-11 19:37:10

doesn't Michael live in the 'potting shed' confused

Hattie64 Fri 04-Nov-11 19:58:17

I feel like gagging, who the hell wants to be called 'cute'. Like Dolly Parton perchance.
Anyway Michael, what do you wear. All the Grandads I have met, wear the most boring old clothes. Grey trousers, perhaps a check shirt, please don't say a blazer, thats a dead cert you are over 70, a peculiar cap, fuddy duddy old shoes. Probably a tie as well, in a nice muted colour of sludge. Anorak to top it up with, oh I could go on and on. I know what they wear, as I am married to a fuddy duddy Grandad, except for the tie and blazer.

MrsM Fri 04-Nov-11 20:04:08

Hmm, must be the weekend
How sad is Michael that he gets his kicks trying to stir things up on Gransnet?

Jacey Fri 04-Nov-11 20:06:44

No ...not a GD ...much more likely to be a SiL ...who has successfully managed to rattle a few cages tonight grin

Come on girls ...ignore him ...you know how little boys hate that!! shock

jingle Fri 04-Nov-11 22:43:31

Michael has posted before, asking about cooking.
