Yes, I watched the one you are talking about biker. Makes you think doesn't it? Incredible savings but they didn't make it clear where she got all the tokens from did they? Very time consuming and a bit restrictive with choice of food. Can't see my DH tolerating the same food over and over again!! Still made me think that perhaps I could do better with saving tokens. Afraid I often let the ones I have go out of date. Note to self - must try harder

Just watched it. It showed some of the so called offers that in fact were not offers at all. A single item would be shown to be on sale for £1 and the offer would "buy two for £2"
I have come across this many times at my local supermarket and I hope I have not been taken in by it !

I thought this a disappointing programme. The info. was all a bit thin. I didn't learn anything new and found myself hankering after the older style Panorama.

Butternut i also thought the programme didn't deliver all it promised. I thought I was going to learn somthing new.
We all know that the offers in supermarkets are not there to save us huge amounts of money, they are ther to get us into the store !

yes me too...same old rope...we can prob learn more on gransnet from each other! I think we had a topic " top tips " or soemthing like that, perhaps we can try and keep it updated, although things move that quick (offers etc) bit like the "Martin Lewis" money experts...you have to really trawl through the pages, which if you havn't time ....... but maybe if we come across offer like I was in Tesco on thnk it was friday and Quality street were down to £3 -99 a tin!......... bfn must dash have a good day bfn

I was disappointed with the programme and, at one point, wondered if Sophie Raworth actually did her own shopping although she did eventually say that she usually did it with three children in tow! I think that when I did my shopping with lots of children "helping" supermarkets weren't quite so competitive, or underhand, as they are now. I didn't learn anything I hadn't worked out for myself and the offers rarely make a difference to how I shop. We need what we need and if it's a staple which is on offer I check it out and buy it if it is worth it! [smug, gold star/halo type emoticon with a santa hat on!]

Not quite the same thing but a pub near where I live has a sign in the window saying "3 drinks for the price of 3" and I have actually heard people outside saying that they would go in there (a foul-looking place) for the "bargain". I despair.

When I used to work in a drycleaners my boss asked we had any ideas to bring in more customers into the shop, I did suggest we ran an offer, one item cleaned for the price of two . It was almost an hour before he worked it out
