I listen to Radio 2 when at home about the house. I enjoy the Jeremy Vine programme but he is away quite lot. 'Locum' presenters are usually OK but Vanessa Feltz (on this week) really upsets me. Does anyone else find her 'style' quite rude or is it just me? confused

Jeremy Vine gets on my nerves so I now listen to Radio 5 until Richard Bacon (who also gets on my nerves) comes on when I switch to Radio 2!

I CAN'T STAND THE FELTZ WOMAN.

I DISLIKE HER WITH A VENGEANCE.

It could be libel if I expressed an opinion. shock

Annobel Mon 26-Mar-12 17:21:07

I listen to Five Live a lot, especially morning and night. Richard Bacon makes me twitch! I prefer the female presenters. Nicky Campbell also gets up my nose - he seems to think it's all about him.

Radio 4 nonstop, then world programme at night!

Sbagran Mon 26-Mar-12 17:43:35

Vanessa speaks highly of you jings!!! grin

wotsamashedupjingl Mon 26-Mar-12 17:45:33

grin

Jacey Mon 26-Mar-12 18:23:52

With you jeni radio in house and car permanently tuned to Radio 4 ...only switch off when the archers come on!! grin

Lucyella Mon 26-Mar-12 18:51:32

With you both jeni and Jacey listen to radio 4 whenever I'm in the car or at home alone. Find lots of interesting programmes and enjoy lots of the plays. Learn a lot from some of the factual programmes too. Husband enjoys local radio but I'm not too keen. We compromise when we're together, he listens to Radio 4.

Richard Madeley makes my teeth itch I can not stand the man , he sometimes stands in for DJs on radio 2 and it has me reaching for the off button
wotsamashedupjingi I feel exactly the same about Vanessa Feltz wink

I listen to Radio Two in the car. I like the Steve Wright show in the afternoon, probably because I used to listen to him years ago. I hate it when he has a "locum" - recently it's been Chris Tarrant and he doesn't half seem to love himself.....plus, he changes the format of the show to suit himself! angry

Jacey Mon 26-Mar-12 18:59:45

Loved your last comment Lucyella grin

The only programme I listen to is Radio 4 -there is so much that I enjoy, and quite a lot that gets me annoyed, such as The Moral Maze. If I want to listen to music, I prefer to play my own CDs and tapes. I wish I could get Radio 4 in my car, but it is not possible here with the CD/Radio I have.

Anne58 Mon 26-Mar-12 19:03:29

Yep, definitely Radio 4 here.

One of my pet hates is when I have left the car to be either:
A) Parked by one of those companies that offer a parking service when you are going on holiday
B) Having the car serviced

and on collecting the car find that the radio has been re-set to "Radio Noisy" (on occasion this has been a foreign language station, which in the UK I find particularly annoying. The parking people are driving my car for around 15 minutes max, so why???)

The chap who is usually charged with servicing my car (the garage is on the same industrial estate as where I recently worked, very handy) was a prince among men, in my opinion, as not only were his prices reasonable, but he never interfered with my settings!

I listen to classic fm except for Sunday mornings, when I used to love Michael Ball on Radio 2. He's in the theatre somewhere at the moment so it's Terry Wogan instead.
Yawn....he is now well past his sell by date!!

Gally Mon 26-Mar-12 20:21:55

I am glued to CFM most of the time but if I want some serious stuff and the news I listen to Radio 4 although I have to turn it off on thursday mornings when that dreadful Melvin Bragg is on - he upsets my equilibrium and it takes quite a lot to do that grin

glassortwo Mon 26-Mar-12 20:41:33

I start the day with local radio, then swop for womans hours, then swop back to local radio until Steve Wright comes on radio 2 then I swop back to local radio for the football grin

mrshat Mon 26-Mar-12 21:00:24

Yes, I listen to Radio 4 too. DH always has it on. I have Radio 2 on from habit of driving to work with Terry Wogan - he did make me laugh but I don't like him on the Sunday programme. The mood dictates usually, but Jeremy has interesting stuff on as a rule.

grannyactivist Mon 26-Mar-12 21:10:58

Only Radio 4 here. I often have some great conversations with others who've listened to the same programmes, but yes, I also switch off as soon as I hear the Archers theme music.

Carol Mon 26-Mar-12 21:29:31

Same for me - radio 4 in the car, and I love Any Answers, Moral Maze, Gardeners Question Time, Woman's Hour and the afternoon plays.

Hunt Mon 26-Mar-12 23:27:56

Nicky Cambell once called me ''a dinosaur''

Annobel Mon 26-Mar-12 23:37:12

I hope you took that as a compliment, Hunt.

I switch between Radio 1 and Radio 4, and Jacey I turn on for the Archers. I have always loved current music, and even check the Top 40 every week. Some of the Dadio 1 DJs I cannot stand, but like the ones doing prime time shows.

wotsamashedupjingl Tue 27-Mar-12 09:35:49

I used to listen to the radio a lot. These days I rarely put it on, apart from early mornings on headphones. I don't think it's got anything to do with the programmes per se. I think it's an age thing! shock

I like a bit of tinkly piano on Radio 3 while I'm having my bath, especially on sunny mornings with the window open.

wotsamashedupjingl Wed 28-Mar-12 13:53:54

Did anyone hear Vannesa F just now on Jeremy Vine, cut off the blokes debating the pasties issue?! Mid sentence! So rude!!! shock

Weird woman. hmm
