gracesmum Thu 22-Nov-12 16:06:43

Bit of a back-handed apology or what? "I am glad I am not like you lot I rearly (sic) am" confused
So what are we like? Based on what?

Ana Thu 22-Nov-12 16:17:40

There was an earlier thread, gracesmum - think it's been deleted...jenricks took exception to some of the comments.

crimson Thu 22-Nov-12 16:18:53

You mean you don't want to be able to spell ?

gracesmum Thu 22-Nov-12 16:19:18

Right hmm - as usual not keeping up!!

Lilygran Thu 22-Nov-12 16:32:01

Anyone else eager to know what awfulness led to a thread being deleted. Bad language obviously doesn't do it!

Riverwalk Thu 22-Nov-12 16:44:40

Jenricks your faux pidgin English has dramatically improved since your first couple of posts - don't know who you think you're kidding grin.

We have many people who pass this way - why don't you just introduce yourself properly and talk to us?

Don't take the piss .... we may be older but we're not stupid! smile

Ana Thu 22-Nov-12 16:50:53

Bad language, Lilygran? Are you taking the.....?

Ana Thu 22-Nov-12 16:51:17

Oops - forgot the grin

Hello jenricks. This is not a dating site, so you may have made a mistake if that was what you were originally seeking or you may have just tripped over into a place where you would enjoy people talking about all sorts of issues that might interest you – from religion to politics and from movies and television to books and shopping. This is a forum for people more or less of pensionable age, most of whom have grandchildren and the majority of whom, I think but don't know for certain, are women. Having said that, I think most women on this site welcome male viewpoints – but are not, as a rule, interested in dating. (If they are, they are probably investigating the possibilities elsewhere.)

BTW I am not god-fearing – just to set the record straight.

Elegran Thu 22-Nov-12 18:59:33

Jenricks It is a good idea to spend a short time reading the messages and getting the feel of the site before posting. If you had done that, you would have seen that this is not a site for people looking for "lurve" Try somewhere else.

If you were just trying to shock, then you did not succeed - the people on here have been there, done that, got the T-shirt and now want to get on with chatting without being interrupted.

You are not the first. Others have tried and been disappointed.

jO5 Thu 22-Nov-12 19:01:18

hmm

HildaW Thu 22-Nov-12 20:43:26

The term 'God fearing' has always puzzled me. I've always hoped that God was more about love - lets face it in this world its love we need, not fear.

Anne58 Thu 22-Nov-12 21:07:41

I got the T shirt and shrunk it in the wash!

Re. spelling, we all make spelling errors from time to item (sic) and there are also a lot of typos, which are not the same as spelling errors (I often type "form" when I meant to type "from")

However, posting on here in the same way that one might speak, does ring alarm bells.

I have just had a bath, as a soft southener, should I type that as "baarth"?

Will watch with interest.

Anne58 Thu 22-Nov-12 21:14:39

Does anyone, regardless of spelling ability or accent, really type "a" for "I" ? They are also distant enough on the keyboard not to strike one by mistake.

However, I am using a desktop PC with a keyboard, not sure how it might be on an "apad" , as I don't have one.

jeni Thu 22-Nov-12 21:23:02

Querky keyboard. Just the same!
