Getting your directoire gusset in a twist

I've been absent from the forum for a few months - family problems. On my return, I couldn't help but notice that the same refrain is going the rounds - people are being horrible to me or to others, people are pm ing, there are cliques and bullies, JO8 is now in her umpteenth incarnation - how boring it all is and how repetitive.

Just for the record, I've really enjoyed GN. When I asked for ideas on how to entertain my grandson cheaply, I was inundated with constructive suggestions. I love greatnan's jokes which have cheered up many a miserable morning. I am always amazed and in awe of how brainy and well informed some members such as Bags are. Jeni always has something sensible and interesting to say. I enjoy reading the views of people who hold very different opnions to me.

I suppose i just want to say - get over yourselves, some people. It's an internet chat forum. 15 years ago, no such beast existed, so make the most of it. It's wonderful that we can all exchange views. Isn't this something to be celebrated?

I'll just ignore that then? #overmyheadtotallyconfused.com

Ana Mon 11-Feb-13 16:17:08

Think it was to do with spelling.

gracesmum Mon 11-Feb-13 16:19:05

Right - now trying to think of words with similar letters to sow (but as Eric Morecambe would say) "Not necessarily in the right order"!!smile

j08 Mon 11-Feb-13 16:42:04

If I explain gracesmum I will be in trouble with Greatnan. #notriskingthat

grin

Greatnan Mon 11-Feb-13 16:45:29

No big deal - jingle thought I had spelt 'sew' wrongly. I hadn't.

Greatnan Mon 11-Feb-13 16:47:25

On the other hand, she could be right, as in 'sow the seed' rather than 'sew' with a needle! Either way, she knows I was joking! And I can't be right all the time, it wouldn't be fair on everyone else. grin

Galen Mon 11-Feb-13 17:04:39

I thought she was right. You don't use a needle for dissension?
Or do you?confused

gracesmum Mon 11-Feb-13 17:10:29

Top of the class j08 - one does indeed sow dissension - smile, 10/10 [star] emoticon. Tick .Alpha ++ and commendation.
Ooh I feel a pedant alert coming on - sow/sew, lose/ loose, diffuse/defuse,
Better go and lie(/lay?) down in a darkened room till it passes grin

Bon voyage, Greatnan! I'm sure you'll be keeping an eye on GN, but have a lovely, lovely time with your family.

Hi all....I loved that part on page 1 where Jo8 said `with no `drawers on`I hope she didn`t mean a CHEST OF DRAWERS...I couldn`t stand the `suspenders` if she did.grin (SALACIOUS GRIN)

Anne58 Mon 11-Feb-13 19:27:05

hmm

Do you have some sort of alert set for certain words messenger , or do you just trawl in perpetual hope?

messenger Mon 11-Feb-13 20:07:17

Still `trawling` Phoenix for my rich sexy advanced lady...anyone interested?grin

messenger Mon 11-Feb-13 20:14:19

By-the-way Phoenix I [don`t see elderly ladies as `old` just more of an `advanced` age to myself and I find them(ladies) more interesting and more comfortable to be withsmile.

Anne58 Mon 11-Feb-13 20:21:38

Somehow I don't think you'll find any takers here.

Marelli Mon 11-Feb-13 20:23:26

Nah! Don't think he will, phoenix.

gracesmum Mon 11-Feb-13 20:24:39

gracesmum Mon 11-Feb-13 20:38:28
