So sorry to read this but thanks for sharing as it will make the rest of us aware should we be in a similar situation. I hope you get some help from the various investigations ongoing.

For future tickets you might have a look at Viagogo.

I haven't used them but have read that it's an above board and legal way of buying and selling tickets. Apparently the money is not passed on to the seller until you've attended the concert.

We have sold tickets on something called 'Stubhub' which is a division of e-bay, I believe. Similar to Riverwalk's Viagogo, they hold the money until after the event.

How rotten for you, seasider. I know how horrible it feels to be conned.

Last month my ebay account and Mastercard were used fraudulently. Paypal alerted me of 'suspicious activity' and the money was repaid, after a week, but I found it very upsetting. I had to cancel my card and I have closed both my ebay and Paypal accounts. I have no idea how the thief managed to hack into my account.
I have to order things like air fares, car hire and hotels on line but I am now glad that I check into my bank account every day. Had I been away and missed Paypal's email, the fraud of nearly 1,000 euros would have taken me into unauthorised overdraft, which has serious repercussions in France.

So sorry to hear about the con. That is a large amount of money to lose.

I don't know how people's consciences can allow them to knowingly con other people. Someone completely demolished our front fence a few nights ago and sped away. Reckless driving and no hint of an apology so we've had to pay for a new fence as the Insurance company won't pay up. Different scenario but also frustrating.

Of course, one person's conscience allowed him to con us all into believing that Iraq could unleash deadly weapons on Britain in 45 minutes.

It's so annoying to be scammed out of hard-earned money, and with the advent of the internet, it's much easier to do.

With hindsight, a safer method of payment might have been through Paypal (funded by your credit card), as the credit card company can be liable for losses.

Sorry to hear about your terrible experience, but definitely a lesson for all of us.

I've used www.seatwave.com a few times for tickets for the 02 when I've missed the boat on the original ticket sales.

You do pay over face value but sometimes it is worth it, and you can look up exactly where the tickets are that you wish to purchase.

I have just had a quick look and they do have some beyonce tickets but expensive.

I don't know if they do this at the Arena in Manc but you could pitch up at the box office as soon as it opens on the morning of a concert and see if there are any returns available. Sometimes unclaimed press/comp tickets are released very late.

thanks everybody. The lady from fraud action asked if I felt vulnerable after the event but I said no just a bit stupid really! I have been advised to ask if my bank can help re getting the money back so fingers crossed! I did think about trying the box office but can't really afford to pay again so will wait until next time Beyonce tours. It is just a shame the conmen spoil things for genuine sellers but that said there are a lot of people selling tickets at vastly inflated prices despite an original limit of four tickets per applicant.
