He could have said !!!

Like the idiot a few doors down who lights a bonfire when the wind is in my direction and I've a washload on the line. My neighbour is much more considerate.

Like my son, who decided to prune the thick clematis with the hedge trimmers, then without consulting anyone, started a bonfire. He reasoned that there was nothing on their washing line, but was then invited to look into next door's garden, where a line of baby clothes was hidden in smoke! Boy, was he in trouble!

Very annoying but perhaps just a case of thoughtlessness.

And my husband, who decided to burn old documents, as the re-cycling bin was full. Sadly, he didn't take the paper clips off the documents, the plastic on them melted and caused awful smelly smoke to drift into the garden next door. Our neighbour is in his 80's and loves nothing more than a good shout. Unfortunately, my husband had trolled off to the garden centre, and I got the good shouting at .....

Is it only men who do this?

Speaking of inconsiderate neighbours, was trying to get to sleep at 1.00 a.m. this morning when some neighbours arrived home with some friends, making enough noise to wake the dead, and then proceeded to play music VERY LOUDLY. I had to get up and close the window but could still hear them, this went on until around 3.30 which meant another night with no sleep for me. No I didn't ring them to complain because I couldn't work out which neighbour it was (think it was actually more on the main road rather than in the lane where I live).

Well, a good news story. Or neighbour had a 40th birthday, they told us in advance, made sure our cars were not blocked in and had a marquee at the end of their very large garden. We didn't hear a thing.

Oh I had this in our other home.

Washing out and next door guy starts burning rubbish on a beautiful summer day with all the smoke and down fall from the burnings landing on my washing and into the food as we were eating lunch.

My back garden is quite long (100 feet) but the Metro tram track runs past it and on just the other side of my garden fence is part of the trans pennine trail. The tram track, which is an extension to the main network, only opened a couple of months ago, and so I realise I have to get used to the noise, but the trams run off peak every 12 minutes until 1 am, which I find a nuisance as I like to sleep with my windows open, especially in the hot weather. The trail is used as a race track by boys on motorbikes and mopeds, and seems to be a late night gathering place for teenagers with loud screaming voices. Last night my next door neighbours returned home after I had gone to bed at 11.30 and congregated with friends in their garden with lights ablaze and loud conversations/music until the small hours. And to think I watched the tennis in the boiling heat as I didn't want to open the French doors lest the noise of the TV be a nuisance for my neighbours. Thank you everyone as I feel much better for getting that off my chest. I will now work hard at appreciating the wonderful weather and try not to turn into a grumpy old sod.
