I saw them in N/Y , a while back , but certainly did not fancy a ride on one . Because knowing my luck I would have ended up like poor old JANE [ that sounded painful] x

Biker yes fully recovered thanks, my SiL who is a beauty therapist recommended Bio-oil for the scar and it's now visible only to me! The hurt to my self-esteem is perhaps taking rather longer to heal wink
The worst of it was that the experience was a Christmas gift from DD1 and son-in-law so they felt really guiltygrin

If I remember correctly, the chap that invented the Segway, went over a cliff on his - does anyone recall this?

Yes Bikergran.
I had a great time and really enjoyed it, until the last 5 minutes of our hour, when I became over-confident, went up a steep slope and the segway fell back on top of me, causing a deep 2 inch cut just above my right eye which necessitated being rescued by a gorgeous ambulanceman called Steve who calmed me down (I was hysterical with blood pouring all down my face), cleaned me up and stuck my face back together with steristrips and took me to A&E at Newcastle's RVI.

Sorry but you did ask!!

If you havn't then I can recommend having a go on one...(they are the 2 wheeled things that your stand on and ride round)
I booked one of those gift days" Segway Rally" for my DD last year...so about 5 weeks ago we booked the day, it was a lovely day and our chosen venue was "Ripley Castle" near Harrogate,, I packed up a picnic and off we went...our slot was 4-00 pm so we had plenty of time to mooch and picnic.
The Segway things are brilliant!! the only trouble was..once you got the hang of them you didn't want to come off them! if you have ever fancied trying them I could really recommend them smile it's DD birthday again (they do come round fast don't they) and this time I think we may do "quad biking" the other year we did "GOAPE" Where you are attached to ropes and climb up through the trees and walk across bridges, swing on ropes, wiz down zip lines all about 30 ft above ground...was tiring but brill! smile
