It might not have been his fault, but it was certainly his problem! I hope your DD makes a serious complaint.

What an appalling attitude!

Silly man! He didn't need to assume responsibility for it, just be concerned for their safety and say he had no idea why it happened. Now he looks bad, and he could have been blameless. I imagine he was in a hurry to distance himself from the incident - they have to report all such things and be quizzed about it, as anyone injured could claim against the bus company.

I was on a bus the other day which was stopping and starting in rush hour traffic. An older lady who had stood up ready to get off at the next stop was caught unawares by one sudden start and fell back onto her behind, bumping her head on the way down. She insisted she was OK. and her sister would have helped her up and gone on their way, but the driver insisted on calling for first aid and for a relief bus to take the rest of us aboard. If he had not looked after her, he would have been in trouble.

Noy as bad as the Nottingham bus driver that refused to let a young girl onto his bus late one night a couple of years ago because she hadn't got quite enough money for the fare. She was brutally attacked whilst waiting for her mum to come and pick her up. Don't know how some people can live with themselves .

Some people seem completely heartless, don't they.

DD was a mystery shopper for London transport at one point. She had a list of actions that if she found a driver doing she had to get off at the next stop and report it immediately. Moving off before fully shutting the doors was one. I think an incident like this would also have warranted an instant report.

So much compensation sought now, people must be fearful

She wasn't after compensation. The driver cannot be held responsible nor can the bus company. We all know accidents happen. But it would have been good PR to show some concern.

It certainly would ninathenana what an awful attitude, he should get into trouble with his company for saying that and not getting out to check on them!

ninathena, I agree , he could have extended concern, I just mentioned compensation because so many do make claims now and this does make some fearful
