I am in the process of separating from my husband we are both 70 years old and squabbling over who gets what from the household contents. We have been together for almost 9 years a second go at it for both of us but it hasn't worked out for me, sadly. It was good at first when we were having lots of holidays together, and spending our money but I have 2 little granddaughters who live down south a 7 hour journey by car and want to spend more time with them but he has taken against my daughter and refuses to stay with them and has said when they next come here to us he will go away for the duration. He has pushed me to make a choice and I have but not without great upset and anguish.
There is no turning back now and I am going to live near my daughter and children which is what they are looking forward to otherwise I wouldn't imping on them.
I am an active 70 year old and will make a life for myself but still feel very disappointed that the marriage has failed. My first marriage up to his death lasted over 30 years.
