someone mentioned the Timothy Spall canal trip! so......... are we up for a virtual canal trip anyone? not sure if we can manage the whole "Leeds to Liverpool" but could try, anyone wanting to abandon ship could jump off at the next stop! if we havn't tied them to the rudder grin think we may need a few barges but we could tie them all together and have a Zip line to get from one to another! there may be some of you that are not keen on water, so you could run along side grin or whatever. ..I shall leave that thought with you all grin we will need plenty of supplies wine drinks, food etc, and plenty of pubs waterholes and wee toilet stops. the wearing of "mini skirts and stilettos" will be prohibited seeing as though we will be operating the locks and may need to be in certain positions ie leaning over or pushing..... and not to cause the oglers men folk distraction whilst visiting the villages.

Otherwise you might tell us about it.

Don't worry Paposcar there will be a role for you in our next virtual away day trip, but those of us on the first one need to recover and have a liver check with the Doc before we start imbibing again.

We look forward to seeing you in your new bib and tucker, so don't get rid of it at the charity shop yet.

As there is bound to be a party element Paposcar to our next trip we need to know if you are up for a bit of cross dressing. If the answer is yes start looking for a red feather boa and black shimmery dress as in the days of the Charleston.

I think an idea is already forming in my mind. wink

tiggy sorry you got on the mini bus home..don't worry there will be another outing very soon I'm sure, with more fun and frivolity (is that how you spell frivolity hmm??
No doubt these 2 will have their name in the Liverpool Echo this week, goodness knows what they got up to in the Cavern...I leave then for 2 imins and!!!!!!!! there on the Vodka jellies before the blink of an eye. hmm

AlieOxon Sun 06-Apr-14 16:36:18

I do not remember drinking any beer!

NanKate Sun 06-Apr-14 16:40:00

At the next Hoolie, can Papaoscar borrow your biker's outfit Bikergran ?
He will no doubt swap with you his bib and tucker.

I have heard on the grapevine Bikergran that Alie has gone into a Retreat for a week to recover, but she will soon bounce back.

Must dash off and paint my nails lilac, my 3 year old grandson always says 'can I look at your nails Nan ?' He showed them to a stranger in the chemist recently, she had blue nails and he wanted her to know his Nan was groovy too (or mad).

bikergran Sun 06-Apr-14 16:51:04

Alie I don't think you remember much! hmm by the sound of it grin I believe you wrote your mobile number on all the bus stops!!

DebnCreme Sun 06-Apr-14 17:00:08

Sounds like you had a wonderful time, sorry to have missed it. Overdid the wedding sadly and have been suffering ever since. Nothing a good night's sleep won't cure, it is just a case of getting the good night's sleep! Anyway I did manage to retrieve my memory foam sleeping bag, but 'who's been sleeping in my bed?'

AlieOxon Sun 06-Apr-14 17:11:49

Grapevines LIE.

I don't drink beer.

and how has papaoscar forgotten being handcuffed and locked in the 'storecupboard'........? I never heard that he was released either.....

ladybird9 Sun 06-Apr-14 17:22:56

AlieOxon Sun 06-Apr-14 17:42:20

Something will be happening again soon ladybird....

NanKate Sun 06-Apr-14 17:48:38

You've just missed such a weekend party that makes anything Prince Harry gets up to look like a convent outing !!

I am planning another do in a few weeks. That is if Bikergran doesn't come up with another great idea (this all started from her invitation), or someone else in the Gransnetters.

Mine involves clothes, food, cross-dressing for any male company and a few bevies. Who says us southern softies can't party.

Tiny secret - even though I live in the sarf I am a Brummie and proud of it.

papaoscar Sun 06-Apr-14 18:26:36

So, NK, a Brummie loose in the sarf! Are y'awlroyt then, or have you lost the polished accent of the midlands? I could do with a nice thick roast pork batch just now with sage and onion stuffing, apple sauce and cracklin'.

NanKate Sun 06-Apr-14 19:34:38

Although I love to hear the sound of Brummies as I feel back home, as a child I had a very bad stammer and had to have speech therapy to sort me out and I ended up with nothing accent.

However, for about 15 years I was a professional speaker giving talks around the south of England, no one picked up where my roots were. I'm not sure I would have got all the engagements I did, if my accent had been Brummie.

Hope you enjoyed your pork supper Papaoscar.

NanaKate party away smile oh heck Ladybird soz you missed it...we were going to just drift down the canal all week until Friday...the barge is still free (due back in Liverpool Friday) so do hop on board anyone that's passing..you will find instructions under the the toaster in the kitchen. the paracetomol are in the top cupboard (you may need these at some time and the Alka Saltzer) most of the locals are pretty friendly and will let you use their facilities (but they draw the line at you using their menfolk so please take heed...some are not as friendly and see the GNetters as a threat wonder what they have heard hmm
apparently we are a rum lot and out for whatever we can grab especially "silver haired surfers" you will find their men folk locked away in the cellars,
Oh if anyone sees my "inflatable friends" can you deflate them and shove them under the bunk. I'v no! idea where they have disappeared to! the last I saw them..was NanaKate dancing round with them she can get a bit greedy I have a feeling she has led them astray hmm

papaoscar Sun 06-Apr-14 20:07:59

NK, I had a young colleague who could manage TWO of those magnificent midlands roast beef sandwiches back to back. I could only ever manage one but the memory lingers on. Not to mention that the High Priestess has ruled them out of order anyway due to their inherent fat, salt and calories etc. Those were the days!

NanKate Sun 06-Apr-14 21:40:11

Papaoscar I used to like faggots with mushy peas as a child, but they are far too high in cholesterol now - sigh.

Bikergran do you remember Rodney and Del Boy bought a consignment of blow up dolls and they all inflated in the van ? Lol.

bikergran Sun 06-Apr-14 22:00:44

lol cant just rem that one..but I can imagine it lol.

papaoscar Sun 06-Apr-14 22:01:53

Faggots and mushy peas...NK...sublime, with thick gravy. Cherish the memory!

papaoscar Mon 07-Apr-14 13:26:13

269 not out! Break out the Pymms!

NanKate Mon 07-Apr-14 19:06:18

I'm not into cricket, if that is what you are celebrating, but I am an avid tennis watcher and if that great sportsman Rafa Nadal is on I am glued to the tv with a nice glass of something in my hand.

However pleased for you something good has happened on the pitch. smile
