If we have the odd million...

DBH would go. I shall have to keep an eye on the mortgage.

"to take advantage of the growing space tourism industry" according to the DT

Duh! Why didn't we think of that? Forget Eurodisney and Legoland, in five or ten years we will all be going to Mars for our hols.

You ask what are they for, Granny23, and I just don't know. Perhaps somebody does!

I support popaoscar's suggestion - and feel a bit I CAN'T BELIEEEVE IT!

As Branson is getting a space plane ready, he should be footing the bill - perhaps building a space port on his Caribbean island.

Papa Can I ask 'What are they for?'

Ok, disused oil platform it is. And fire them at the arctic so that they can observe global warming first-hand.

I could tell them where to put it but it wouldn't be polite!

No thanks Jane, we have enough windbags here as it is. You can have all the eurocrats you want to send into space. Most of us who live here in 'Brussels' just get on with our normal lives, and we do get a wee bit p****d of with our city gettting the blame for all of Englands woes.

As I live close to Manston I rather it wasn't there !!!!! How about on one of the disused oil platforms in the North Sea?!!!

janerowena Thu 01-May-14 19:38:44

Manston, Isle of Thanet. Long runway, by the sea (for elegran) good road and rail connections, easily accessible yet not densely populated.

I'd rather they spent it on road repairs.

Send the MPs on the trial run?

Fire them at Brussels?

Souls, not soils! Why do they put the Y U I and O so close together on the keyboard?

Elegran Thu 01-May-14 16:46:43

Angle it out over the sea, so that they have a soft landing if/when the rockets fail. We don't want to hurt the fragile soils, do we?

Do we?

whenim64 Thu 01-May-14 16:29:28

No, I'm happy with your suggestion, papaoscar. As long as there is room for visitors to watch and applaud as they rocket skywards! grin

The news that our cash-strapped government are going to put £40bn of our cash into rockets and a new Spaceport somewhere in the UK prompts me to think where to put it. What about in the middle of Westminster then we could fire offending politicians or anybody else out into space whenever we wanted! Any other ideas?
