Oh dear - time to thrive again on being outraged at not having the chance to send it back.....

Charleygirl Thu 12-Jun-14 18:49:59

Would you like mine?! I can easily retrieve it from the waste paper bin.

janreb Thu 12-Jun-14 19:25:46

We didn't get one either - I was looking forward to sending it back.

grin
YES YOU ARE!!!
I have had to go amd buy a b****y hamster so thatI I can not even line its cage with it!!

janerowena Thu 12-Jun-14 20:47:29

grin Having done a survey amongst my friends, the Liverpool area seems to have missed out hugely. I hadn't mentioned to anyone, but the reactions when I did were exactly the same as on here! Tearing it up for loo paper, using it to line the budgie cage and sending it back were all mentioned. Most have torn it up and added it to the compost heap or put it in the recycling.

You aren't missing anything, it really is a waste of a good tree.

Ana Thu 12-Jun-14 20:50:17

Why would you want to subject your bum to scratchy newsprinted paper? shock

janerowena Thu 12-Jun-14 21:00:07

I know someone who misses that awful Izal(?sp) stuff. There are still people around who fondly reminisce about outside loos and loo paper on a string!

Ana Thu 12-Jun-14 21:07:33

Obviously there are some of them on here! grin

thatbags Thu 12-Jun-14 21:10:13

When we bought this house 40 years ago the loo 'paper' was The Church Times neatly cut up.

ninathenana Thu 12-Jun-14 22:10:17

DS looked at ours shock apparently it's 90% football. It's going back tomorrow.

Deedaa Thu 12-Jun-14 22:23:09

Mine will be on its way back tomorrow. I've rolled it up in the cardboard tube from a loo roll - seemed suitable somehow grin

Penstemmon Thu 12-Jun-14 22:31:22

Did not get one here in Surrey either... thought I'd line it with something heavy rwrap a brick in it then send it back!

Penstemmon Thu 12-Jun-14 22:31:48

Or send it back page by page...

sunseeker Thu 12-Jun-14 22:39:16

If you are sending it back the address is: FREEPOST, The Sun, London E98 1AX

gillybob Thu 12-Jun-14 22:45:21

You didn't really miss much GrannyTwice . I received my copy today. Hardly worth any fuss at all as it's so thin and there's nothing in it.

Not so much a Sun sunshine more like a Half Moon moon I would say. grin

Aka Thu 12-Jun-14 23:34:47

The Sun is breaking the law by doing this and may face huge fines

Ana Thu 12-Jun-14 23:37:30

"I await to see how the Attorney General will enforce the law but until then, I'm sure Royal Mail will take the precautionary approach and halt distribution until the situation is clarified by Dominic Grieve."

Bit late now! grin

tiggypiro Fri 13-Jun-14 08:22:24

I have just looked at your link Aka and right at the end is Ed Miliband with a big smile on his face holding up his free copy.
I rest my case !

GrannyTwice Fri 13-Jun-14 08:39:50

What's your case tiggy? That EM is a complete idiot and that all politicians ( same photo with DC and NC) are still in thrall to that completely amoral pile if s* otherwise known as Rupert Murdoch? If do , I completely agree

tiggypiro Fri 13-Jun-14 13:15:21

Absolutely Granny. I didn't know earlier that DC and NC had also posed but understand they have all now apologised. What a pity they can't engage brain before acting. And then they wonder why we get disenchanted with politics and especially politicians.

lucid Fri 13-Jun-14 14:15:23

You're lucky we got 2 copies....angry
