What do you all think if you were away with good friends and won over £200 on bingo would you expect them to buy you a drink?

We were in this position our friends are lucky has happened before we happy for the. But felt gosh bit stingy.m not valued of drink just gesture ?!

ninathenana Sat 15-Nov-14 09:54:50

Yes I would hope for a drink at least.

sunseeker Sat 15-Nov-14 09:59:34

Yes I would expect them to stand a round of drinks to celebrate, unless of course if they were in some financial difficulty.

celebgran Sat 15-Nov-14 10:12:21

Thanks for feedback we are left tad upset, they are good friend but obviously rather tight!

celebgran Sat 15-Nov-14 10:13:17

Sunseeker they just come back from cruise so don't think so !

merlotgran Sat 15-Nov-14 10:19:13

DH would have said, 'Drinks are on you then. I'll help you carry them!!' grin

tiggypiro Sat 15-Nov-14 10:20:16

Reminds me of my MiL. I went to see her one day (a 2hr journey) and she opened the post to find 2 x £100 from Ernie. We went for lunch and she let me pay. I too felt a bit 'short changed'.

petallus Sat 15-Nov-14 10:45:27

I wouldn't expect to be bought drinks but would accept graciously if they were offered.

£200 isn't that much these days.

MiceElf Sat 15-Nov-14 11:01:01

Perhaps they gave it to charity.

annsixty Sat 15-Nov-14 11:05:44

I think I would have expected the gesture of a drink because it is what I would have done if I had won. Mind you it would not have been at bingo!!

Atqui Sat 15-Nov-14 11:31:30

Suppose it depends how many people were there for drinks and what they were drinking!

pompa Sat 15-Nov-14 11:36:44

No, I wouldn't expect a drink just because they had a small win. If we were out with friends we would be buying alternate rounds anyway.

Ana Sat 15-Nov-14 11:48:00

I agree with you, pompa. I certainly wouldn't dwell on it.

Agus Sat 15-Nov-14 12:12:42

Same as pompa

FarNorth Sat 15-Nov-14 12:17:48

I agree with petallus. I'd be happy for my friends without expecting anything for myself.

I'd be a bit peeved with tiggypiro's MiL tho.

celebgran Sat 15-Nov-14 12:25:55

There were just 4 of us supposed close friends guess we would have bought an extra round. Without thinking about it but some of is are takers some are givers we all different. Thanks for opinions!

hildajenniJ Sat 15-Nov-14 12:25:59

I'd be happy form them. I wouldn't expect them to buy drinks all round. £200 would probably go to my DD and her family if I had won.

celebgran Sat 15-Nov-14 12:26:47

We were at warners weekend break got alternate rounds anyway naturally.grin

celebgran Sat 15-Nov-14 12:28:43

Petsllus £200 not much but is. Ice extra amount to win! I think was a de worse I that it happened before and we had actually bought their tickets is only a quick bit of fun not bingo as some people play it I guess

Riverwalk Sat 15-Nov-14 12:55:20

In a group of four, I would have expected the winners to have bought an extra round!

ginny Sat 15-Nov-14 13:05:15

I wouldn't have expected it but it would have been a nice gesture .

Kiora Sat 15-Nov-14 13:09:37

I went to bingo years ago with a friend (I was forced I hate bingo) and won £400 I gave her half. I think you should make the rules clear before you start. I buy lottery scratch cards for around the Christmas table with the crackers and I state before we do them that anything over a thousand pounds has to be shared with me. Won nothing yet I'm sorry to saysad

harrigran Sat 15-Nov-14 13:35:58

How to create upset with family and friends, I would stay well clear.

FarNorth Sat 15-Nov-14 13:55:34

That sounds a terrible idea, Kiora. Winner keeps all, I'd say.

Atqui Sat 15-Nov-14 15:00:55

They could have bought a bottle of wine !
