Is it just me, or does anyone else find this thread odd disturbing? Apart from the fact that most posters appear to be new (apologies if they are not) I feel as if I have landed in some alternative, surreal world. Tell me it isn't me going a bit loopy ....... confused

I think you are completely sane, Marmight Could be people taking the proverbial on the RW & KW thread of course. Or refugees from the Rick Wakeman fan club page.

It is still Easter holidays and you know how bored they get!

Oooooerrrr! confused

It isn't just you Marmight. I felt I was no longer on gransnet but a forum for The Stage magazine!! One in particular came across, to me, as knowing Alan Rickman personally.

Unless many people often lurk on here, I do wonder how they know about question/competition threads.

I read the thread when I saw this one, couldn't quite believe what was going on! Marmight you are so not alone in finding it odd. The final post by one of the thread hijackers was completely bonkers.
I this Agus is right in suspecting there are 'lurkers'.

oops, that should have been 'I think....'

Hi all,

We publicise Q&A threads as widely as possible via social media and the like, so we think it's possible some fans may have been drawn to the site specifically to ask their favourite actors some questions!

Elegran Tue 14-Apr-15 11:30:51

I hope we auld yins are not trampled underfoot by the stampede!

Agus Tue 14-Apr-15 11:44:29

It will be interesting to see how many 'regulars' are acknowledged in the takeover!

It's ever so funny.
I wouldnt have read it if it wasnt for this thread.
I did think they are good questions though.

When these sessions are publicised, I presume that it isnt specifically targeted towards grandparents. Which would help explain why there doesnt seem to be a spillover into the new members posting regularly on the site afterwards.

Blimey I see what you all mean! I hadn't bothered to check that thread as not particularly interested in that film/those people. I suppose those new posters give some idea of the sort of mad keen fans there are around. Still don't want to see that film though.

Teetime Tue 14-Apr-15 18:45:17

Yep definitely weird not sure how you can stop this happening though.

Cant apologise for my posting as I have always fancied AR rotten since seeing him as Mr slop in Barchester Towers years and years ago. However I saw him on stage in London in Private Lives and he was very wooden.

Where do these ('mender') people emerge from? I assume they have now gone back there and will not be seen again. My favourite Alan Rickman role was Sherrif of Nottingham in Robin Hood Prince of Thieves: "call off Christmas". If I'd got onto this thread on time I'd have asked him if villainous parts were his favourites. Too late!
