I feel so so sorry for the parents of little baby Charkey trying so desperately to fund a cure against all the doctors and the Courts advice and they now want to take it to the Suprene Court
Having said that personally I think he should be allowed to die but I don't see why the drs can't let the parents take him to the US
Theyve raised the money why can't they just help the parents to get him there - what possible harm can it do ? .
I can fully understand that the parents want to try and I'd hate to be in that position but what harm cab it so to allow them to take him to the US - if they are so sure he won't survive allow the parents the solace they seek by trying everything

Even with the advances in modern medicine pennyh47 there still comes a time when you have to say "enough".

I wonder whether Charlie's parents have really thought through all the implications. Think of the organisation required to transport a baby on life support across the Atlantic, and the number of people it would involve. Suppose they take him to America and he dies on the way? Suppose he dies far away in an American hospital instead of peacefully, here, with all his family around? Even if he got some benefit from the treatment I can't imagine an enormous improvement. It's not like magically shrinking a tumour.

In the end I think I would rather spend time with Charlie, taking photographs and building memories and letting him pass peacefully.
