Firstly I especially do not want to see a thread I have started suddenly appear on face book without my permission
I do not want to see another " cute" pictute of pug dogs on mugs , beding etc. The same goes for unicorns and elf on the shelf and who wants Christmas bedding that will only be used at Christmas ?
I hope never to hear about Katie Hopkins or the Kardashians and please no more comparing Meggan with Kate .
There must be plenty more to add to the list so feel free.

I don't want to live in austerity any more.
I don't want any new celebrities who are only famous for being celebrities.

Teetime Fri 22-Dec-17 11:13:33

Trump!

Mermaid tail blankets.

I can't look for a crochet pattern without being bombarded by them.

NanaandGrampy Fri 22-Dec-17 11:18:42

No more reality TV please. I REALLY don't want to see people covered in bugs or being famous for being famous .

Anniebach Fri 22-Dec-17 11:45:21

No more Harry and Megan gazing in wonderment at each other for the camera.

No more reality tv featuring 'celebrities' I have never heard of or possibly never even seen before.
Nothing, yes absolutely nothing, about the royal family whatsover.

Now I will put my tin hat on and wait!!

Jane10 Fri 22-Dec-17 12:50:55

I enjoy programmes about real people. I assume you lot are denigrating things like I'm a Celebrity or Big Brother rather than the multitude of programmes that don't feature actors eg Strictly or the plethora if interesting documentaries? Reality TV can be excellent.
Id like to see less intolerance and more openness to others's opinions.

Iam64 Fri 22-Dec-17 12:54:07

Yo Jane10 - can I second your wish to see less intolerance and more openness to the opinions of others.
I don't like I'm a Celeb or Big Brother, don't watch Strictly but I have loved ones who do and get lots of fun from the programmes.
Let's all try and be less grumpy and less OUTRAGED all the time.

No more stereotypical 'gran'' images accompanying the Gransnet links on Facebook!

willsmadnan Fri 22-Dec-17 13:03:47

Not necessarily in this order:
1. Trump, and all things Trump- related.
2 Meghan and Harry .... ditto. Though I fear this is a vain hopetchsad
3 Brexit... another hopeless wish.
4 the 'Me Too' campaign... so why didn't all you campaigners say something before now?
Nothing on this wish list is liable to actually happen ... hey ho!

No more old men being charged with sexual harassment because 20 years ago they put a hand on your knee and called you 'Sweetie'. For Gawd's sake. (Of course, it's different if it's children and it's different if it's REALLY sexual harassment - not the sort that any woman worth her salt couldn't deal with on the spot).

willsmadnan Fri 22-Dec-17 13:58:47

MamaCaz..... that reminds me of another one... pleeese no more photos in the media of a gnarled old hand clutching a walking stick which seems to preface every article about the elderly (usually how selfish we are to be draining the NHS and not conveniently dying tchangry) .

KatyK Fri 22-Dec-17 14:07:20

The Kardashians and 'celebrities' in general
The Royals
Political correctness gone mad

varian Fri 22-Dec-17 14:25:19

No more talking about " the will of the people" ( about 25% of the population who for one reason or another voted leave in June last year, including many who now regret it)

paddyann Fri 22-Dec-17 14:25:54

definately the royals ,Trump ,I cant believe hes STILL president and hoping for an end to Tory misrule in 2018.People MUST have come to their senses by now after the debts rising daily and the austerity hurting the poor and vulnerable

I am with you here. Kate Maltby says she complained to authorities, afaics all she needed to do was reply to the text msg that she found it objectionable. As to "a fleeting touch on her knee" during a conversation, that does not sound like harassment to me. If she thought it was, move the knee (or the hand).
There are women for whom a job depended on a predatory man in a senior position, that is harassment.
But Kate Maltby is a journalist!

Christinefrance Fri 22-Dec-17 14:45:23

No more sleaze in Government
No more over usage of transgender issues
No more Lord Sugar or so called celebrities in the jungle
No more me being a Grumpy old Woman.

callgirl1 Fri 22-Dec-17 16:55:03

Theresa May
Ant and Dec receiving yet another award

MaluCatchu1 Fri 22-Dec-17 18:36:18

Can't think of what to call it but all that c**p about not calling boys boys or girls girls but referring to them all as Zen or something
I do have to defend the Christmas bedding though - its on for Christmas week and I'm happy to know that it means no going out to work while its on!!!!

maryeliza54 Fri 22-Dec-17 18:55:13

* Nottooold* could you give me a link to the cases old men who were charged with s dual harassment 20 years ago for putting their hands on someone’s knee and calling them sweetie? I must have missed that in all the prosecutions of men including many many priests who raped and sexually assaulted children and eg Stuart Hall.FFS

maryeliza54 Fri 22-Dec-17 18:56:00

Mine is a bit shallow, but I hope the terrible fashion disappears for thick dark eyebrows with one unnatural straight edge. The photo shows what I mean,

I agree with lots of the suggestions, but I quite like Harry and Meghan so I don't mind all the hype before the wedding. I have watched Suits from the start, so maybe I'm more used to her.

I also don't mind all the women who are calling out men for inappropriate behaviour. Anything that stops women being viewed as fair game is fine by me. I've also realised that I am a bit of a prude because what bugs me about this whole business is how many of the men involved are married. I expect the people who represent me or are in public life and paid by the tax payer to demonstrate a decent standard of morals. I can't trust someone who is untrustworthy in their public or private lives. (Gets off soap box tchblush).
