Deja vu?

It's only a few days since we saw one poster start several threads almost simultaneously.
AIBU to wonder if we're off again?
4 threads so far and each one starting with a question.

MawB Wed 23-Oct-19 22:25:37

? ‘Ere we go, ‘ere we go, ‘ere we go! ?

NanaandGrampy Wed 23-Oct-19 22:25:42

Every answer fuels them I’m afraid.

NanaandGrampy Wed 23-Oct-19 22:26:18

LOL @Maw

M0nica Wed 23-Oct-19 22:29:56

I quite like them. they are entirely frivolous and given the current run of subjects at the moment something frivolous like this is a sweet relief.

Bathsheba Wed 23-Oct-19 22:32:27

Exactly NandG. I’m quite surprised just how many people engage ingenuously with these pranksters.

mcem Wed 23-Oct-19 22:38:48

Though I didn't think of it at the time I was taken aback when one poster suggested there could be sinister motives!
Tracking down and identifying a poster by collating the answers!!

Callistemon Wed 23-Oct-19 23:00:45

It makes a change from asking for advice about school uniforms, plimsolls and onesies!

Gemini1789 Wed 23-Oct-19 23:01:51

I’m new. Please could someone explain.

BlueBelle Wed 23-Oct-19 23:04:24

Oh I m so unobservant I often never look who posts threads but now you ve mentioned it ummmmm

Gemini1789 Wed 23-Oct-19 23:10:49

I’ve started some threads. Is it me ? Aren’t we supposed to ask questions. Someone please enlighten me.

Fran3669 Wed 23-Oct-19 23:11:20

It’d be more worrying if they were questions along the lines of “mother’s maiden name”, “name of your first pet”, “town where you were born” or “name of your first school”....

BlueBelle Wed 23-Oct-19 23:12:24

I ve sent you a pm Gemini

FarNorth Wed 23-Oct-19 23:37:08

If you don't like a thread, don't get involved with it.

Nortsat46 Thu 24-Oct-19 10:32:40

mcem I was just thinking this and then I saw your thread, thank you.

I have deliberately tried to avoid engaging with any of these threads, but was caught out a couple of times by the previous flurry of (interesting) questions.
People (inc me) offer up personal information in good faith and goodness knows how it is being mined/filtered/used.

Haven't understood a word of this so seems a bit unpleasant. Wish people would not say anything if not willing to say what it's all about.

Beckett Thu 24-Oct-19 10:56:11

winterwhite There was a previous poster who started several threads all asking questions - it was then discovered he was a young actor/writer - possibly doing research for his next story. Of course if he had been honest up front he would probably have got support.

Just occasionally GN gets new posters who are obviously trying to con or shock members - it rarely works and they just end up being the butt of jokes.

M0nica Thu 24-Oct-19 19:24:24

Just noticed that some more of these question threads have been posted. You can have too much of a good thing.

ladymuck Thu 24-Oct-19 19:26:02

I only look at the title of a thread, but then I'm new and names mean nothing to me (yet).

MawB Thu 24-Oct-19 19:31:48

I seen that tonight’s new threads have been deleted.

winterwhite; Fully sympathise! There must be many GNetters who still have enough marbles to "plough" several furrows simultaneously, i.e. threads, rather than be stuck in a single rut! hmm Variety is the spice of life, so it is said!
It's the cloak of anonymity and the innuendo that spoils some threads! sad
Heigh-Ho!

LullyDully Fri 25-Oct-19 17:24:13

Half term?????

Callistemon Fri 25-Oct-19 19:49:39

Beckett well, I didn't know that!

Will we all be featured in a play/film/book?

Gransnet Charades?

lemongrove Fri 25-Oct-19 20:33:01

A book by Alan Bennet perhaps??

Pantglas2 Sat 26-Oct-19 08:16:03

Yes lemongrove - narrated by Joyce grenfell!
