At 35yrs old, Prince Harry has served 10yrs in the Army , fought in Afghanistan
Started the Invictus games for wounded soldiers
Walked across the South Pole
Raised Hundreds of millions for charities
Helped raise 1 billion for 9/11
Supporter of 24 Charities
Lost his mother at a young age,( as did William)
William has also been exemplary in all he does.
If he is happy with Meghan , living somewhere else , good luck to him,he deserves it.
Time to give them a little respect.

Well good luck with that on GN so far as PH is concerned

kittylester Sat 18-Jan-20 20:46:15

I think the worry is that it wont last and that Meghan is using him. I wish it wasnt so but that is how it appears to me.

suziewoozie Sat 18-Jan-20 20:47:43

Wishing marriage breakdown on people - nice

Bridgeit Sat 18-Jan-20 20:47:49

Thanks Suziewoozie , Got to give it ago. Level the playing field so to speak .

I wish Prince Harry well in the future, I hope he will be happy with Meghan and Archie.

BlueBelle Sat 18-Jan-20 21:12:11

I think Harry has done the right thing to get away and he and Meghan can concentrate on their charitable works and their beautiful baby
Meghan has worked hard for charity over the years which many people don’t give her credit for, well English people wouldn’t, they like bringing folk down like the post above really surprised at that Kitty just proves the point he’s done the right thing getting away
I wish them both every good luck I m sure he’s got the best end of the stick I wouldn’t want to be in Williams shoes for all the tea in China I think his mum would be proud that he’s stepped outside
Loves stronger than money

What would happen if William decided to depart in a similar fashion?

Bridgeit Sat 18-Jan-20 21:18:04

Well it would be interesting, just imagine if the younger generation all abdicated
I think we are fairly safe we’ve still got Charlie.

Anniebach Sat 18-Jan-20 21:19:11

He won’t , but if he did the next in line is George, I don’t think
William can do a thing about this.

vegansrock Sat 18-Jan-20 21:20:53

We’d have to gossip about someone else. Or maybe they’d be like those ex royals of countries which don’t have royals who live in Monaco or the South of France, and we’d read about them in Hello.

lavenderzen Sat 18-Jan-20 21:23:06

Respect here to both of them from me Bridgeit.

I think that Meghan is Harry's route out of a future he was dreading.

I hope they can work this out, that the media leaves them alone and they can settle down together.

I also hope that he and William restore their good relationship and that the public do not put too many demands on William and his family in future.

We wanted a slimmed down monarchy so we must be content with what we wished for in the future, stop wanting to know about every aspect of their lives and let them get on with the duties we require from them - and no more.

And stop demanding that they give up their private residences and private wealth.
This is not a communist state although some may wish it to be so.

Bridgeit Sat 18-Jan-20 21:33:52

Yes totally agree with your comments Calliestemon.

sparkii Sat 18-Jan-20 21:35:56

I sincerely have never been much interested in the RF apart from looking at the clothes and reading what Oliver James had to say. These long winter night, I find myself doing a bit of channel hopping and Googling. What do I discover?

An outmoded , anarchic, deceitful clan of people, manipulated by a few key players; Mountbatten, Phillip, the ghastly plotting Grandmothers scouring the horizon for a virgin bride for Charles.....so well done Megs. Nice One!

sparkii Sat 18-Jan-20 21:37:01

The old uns will drop off the perch soon and it will all be over.

Bridgeit Sat 18-Jan-20 21:38:19

?love it Sparkii

At a purely practical level, the removal from Royal duties of York and Sussex (not to mention the elderly Edinburgh) imposes a heavy burden on those who remain.

Callistemon Sat 18-Jan-20 21:39:18

Nasty, sparkii

Did you speak of your own parents and grandparents in that way?

Callistemon Sat 18-Jan-20 21:45:48

grumppa I agree, that is why we need a huge sea change in what we expect from our royal family.

We need a Head of State, we need to fund the whole business of Head of State whether that be through a monarchy or an elected presidential system which could be more expensive.

HM needs support now and Charles is 70, Anne is 68.

Charities, associations etc may need to look elsewhere for their patrons and presidents.
They may not do that with great success.

This could be the catalyst, but 'be careful what you wish for' comes to mind.

Iam64 Sat 18-Jan-20 21:53:27

Respect and thanks to William and Harry. Good to hear the family is working to support Harry in the new path he wants to follow with his wife and their son. I hope it goes well for them

Anniebach Sat 18-Jan-20 21:56:49

I hope they will be happy, my own belief is you cannot find
happiness at the cost of others unhappiness

Bridgeit Sat 18-Jan-20 21:57:09

Ohh & I believe William has or can pilot rescue helicopters .

sparkii Sat 18-Jan-20 22:01:12

Nasty, sparkii

Which bit?

My own belief is that every person is resonsible for himself/herself. And they have done a brave and rather interesting thing.
