I know this has been aired before but please, before you post - read the flipping thread properly!

merlotgran Wed 05-Aug-20 19:21:38

Yep!

Urmstongran Wed 05-Aug-20 19:26:36

Agree kitty.
Mind you it’s annoying when an OP provides background info then once the replies roll in - especially if they disagree or are too direct for their liking - the OP then goes ‘but .. but ..’ and supplies another raft of stuff to back up their problem that they didn’t supply at the start. Gets my goat every time.

Or, never posts again with conclusion/outcome

Chewbacca Wed 05-Aug-20 19:36:15

Quite a few threads started recently that have even so garbled and "strange" that it's difficult to make head nor tail out of them. And on others, I've responded to a couple of threads only to find that the OP doesn't come back and no one is any the wiser as to whether they took the advice they asked for or not. GN is a weird place at the moment.....

Puzzler61 Wed 05-Aug-20 19:40:34

A bit like the whole world really Chewbacca ....

Sorry kitty
If it's pages and pages I don't always read every post.

Sorry merlot

Urmonstongran I agree

Jaxjacky it is so annoying, isn't it.

Chewbacca it's often very weird!

Callistemon Wed 05-Aug-20 19:43:25

Puzzler X posts

I said this before a while, ago and got my head bitten off!

I still wish that responses from the O.P. could be coloured in some way, they seem to manage it on "the other side", I think it would be quite handy, and save repeated comments once the question had been answered.

Oh heck, does this make any sense!?

Callistemon Wed 05-Aug-20 19:51:18

Yes it does.

I called in to the other side a couple of days ago and saw that the OP's posts were coloured all the way through the thread.

Agree. Very necessary.

Callistemon prizackly!

Why can't GN have that too?

Callistemon Wed 05-Aug-20 19:56:10

We're the poor relations!

phoenix Wed 05-Aug-20 19:57:12

Well, we shouldn't be!

phoenix Wed 05-Aug-20 19:59:15

Perhaps we could organise some sort of protest?

Not sure what form it might take though!

Any suggestions?

Chewbacca Wed 05-Aug-20 20:01:35

Another thing that the other side have is that you can click on the OPs opening post and then select to see every single post by them through to the end of the thread. That way, you can get to see what their responses have been, up to date. Maybe GNHQ think that we couldn't cope with such technological wizardry?

Kalu Wed 05-Aug-20 20:11:33

Agreed kitty

A few years ago I asked if the poster and also their thread could be highlighted as it is done on MN. Much easier to see if the poster has replied and added further to their post. It hasn’t happened.....yet?

Urmstongran Wed 05-Aug-20 20:23:14

Fingers crossed eh Kalu?

MerylStreep Wed 05-Aug-20 20:32:04

Kitty
Absolutely agree. How many times did posters get confused with your recent op. ?

kittylester Wed 05-Aug-20 20:34:13

I used to like seeing people's info too.

grannyrebel7 Wed 05-Aug-20 20:35:36

Thought the OP's post was always green and your own pink. The others are white. What I would like to know is there a way to see a list your own threads? Sometimes mine seem to disappear.

Chewbacca Wed 05-Aug-20 20:40:31

grannyrebel you can see the threads your on by clicking on "threads I'm on" at the bottom of the page. They're in chronological order of when they were last added to.

Puzzler61 Wed 05-Aug-20 21:06:23

Chewy and *grannyrebel”. Just FYI , mine are at the top of the page , just under “ Gransnet Forums “

“I’m On” , * this is the one you want to click on
“Active” ,
“Watching”. etc.

Grannyr yours could be bottom of page or top.

Chewbacca Wed 05-Aug-20 21:08:42

Typical Puzzler... I've spent my whole life being at the bottom of the page! grin
