I think this may have come up before but I’m having a go anyway!

I know some of you love the games but I really think they should be in their own section.

13 this morning.

Am I alone?

MawBe Wed 26-May-21 08:37:56

Good luck with that! grin

joannapiano Wed 26-May-21 08:44:32

You are not alone, Sago.
I think they are multiplying every month.

Redhead56 Wed 26-May-21 08:48:48

I agree I don’t mind the odd one buts it’s getting ridiculous. Like the betting adverts on tv.

Charleygirl5 Wed 26-May-21 08:50:55

I could not agree more but I doubt if you will get anywhere.

Fleur20 Wed 26-May-21 08:52:11

You are definitely NOT alone!?

Puzzler61 Wed 26-May-21 08:55:13

I am a GN Games player (keeps my brain ticking over) but,
I can understand all your frustration and would request that GNHQ separate them. I’m sure it is in their power and not too difficult to arrange? Please? To keep everyone happy. ?

Lucca Wed 26-May-21 08:56:54

Agree.

tanith Wed 26-May-21 08:58:27

Agree too.

Kim19 Wed 26-May-21 09:00:01

I've seen this plea before and simply can't understand the irritation. Why not just ignore the games and select the topics you're interested in? Live and let live kind of thing? When I'm on here I'm not pressed for time (obviously!) so I just dabble about the place and never expect the order of topics to be particularly targeted to my area of interest. What is the actual problem with mixed headings for a mixed bag of people, please?

Spinnaker Wed 26-May-21 09:01:52

Agree wholeheartedly- the other day I counted 23 !

DillytheGardener Wed 26-May-21 09:02:33

I very occasionally join in playing games, but agree, they should be in another section so they don’t impact the chat groups.

Nanof3 Wed 26-May-21 09:02:56

You are not alone.

timetogo2016 Wed 26-May-21 09:05:34

I agree.

ninathenana Wed 26-May-21 09:06:15

Sago click the ... at the top of the page and click, hide discussion.
I've just done four this morning

ninathenana Wed 26-May-21 09:09:04

Sorry, not three dots should have said red/white arrow

Same here. I don’t need the ‘trending’ list to advise me on what to read. I look around at subject headings that ‘might’ ? interest me.

This complaint gets posted on a regular basis. I’m not interested in the games, so I just scroll on by. I really don’t see the problem.

Chestnut Wed 26-May-21 09:32:22

Three things that would be wonderful:

Separate the games from the chat
Provide a 'like' or 'dislike' button for posts
Allow the OP to close the thread if they wish

henetha Wed 26-May-21 09:35:01

They are easy to avoid, aren't they. Just scroll past them.

Doodledog Wed 26-May-21 09:39:13

I tend to use the front page to see the active topics, rather than go to each forum separately, and I agree - the games often take up most of that page.

Games are not my cup of tea, but I understand that others like them, so would it not benefit both gamers and non-gamers to keep them in a section of their own? That way, the games wouldn't be interrupted by discussion threads and vice versa.

Lucca Wed 26-May-21 09:42:57

Actually I’d much prefer if Any posts frommOP were highlighted in a colour, on the I pad that is.

I'm not keen on the 'like' suggestion, but I would love to have at least a window of opportunity to edit posts for ambiguity and/or typos after posting.

The ability to go straight to the last post on a thread is useful on other forums, too. If you have read all the posts and aren't sure of there has been another one, you don't have to open the thread and navigate to the last page.

A 'see all posts by . . .' facility can be useful too, if you want to look to see if someone has already posted something that might be relevant to what you are about to say. I'm thinking in terms of someone being ill, or recently bereaved - that sort of thing. It can help to stop tactless replies from causing hurt.

And yes. Being able to close your own thread would be good, particularly when you have had the question answered, or it has resolved itself and people keep saying the same thing over and over.

It IS a problem for those of us with visual problems

I have no idea what this thread is about blush grin
