Oh Marbella.
Slight crisis here mate.
Er where do we start?
Your team is generally incompetent.
Two years you bluffed, fluffed and puffed.
What is the answer, mate?

Bluefox Tue 12-Oct-21 22:42:02

He’s on holiday and will come back if there is a blow up crisis I imagine. The man is human and has a family who need him too. What do you expect? Mate?

Charleygirl5 Tue 12-Oct-21 22:46:57

Is it too much to ask he has gone on a one-way ticket never to return?

I did wonder if he is considering his future.

'What do you expect?'

I expect him to be PM- this is what he wanted- he got us into this mess- he should be here to face the music, and try and work on some solutions.

I think there are some professions where some people forget that the people who do that work are humans.
Really, truly do you feel that any person is owned and not entitled to a life of their own? We must make a choice surely? Either employees have rights or they don’t. I’m not sure it’s reasonable to assert that we’re all equal but some are more equal than others.

Perhaps it’s more about timing than entitlement bluefox

The class is in uproar the kids are all fighting desks and chairs are flying the teacher can’t control them The food for the dinner is not going to turn up and the water has been turned off . The headmaster heads off laughing and joking to a party with his family

Calendargirl Wed 13-Oct-21 07:11:31

Don’t imagine it’s much of a break though. Where is he- the Costas? It’s hardly the back of beyond. I suspect he is constantly in touch with things back home. Just because he’s away doesn’t mean he’s not involved.

Communications so different to years ago.

kittylester Wed 13-Oct-21 07:41:56

Anyone heard of the Internet? Zoom? Telephones?

lemongrove Wed 13-Oct-21 07:52:45

Apparently not Kitty?
There is no better time than now for a break....the daft panic buying of petrol is over so why not now?

Lucca Wed 13-Oct-21 08:30:02

Why another thread about Johnson’s holiday?

lemongrove Wed 13-Oct-21 08:36:27

You may well ask Lucca
At first I thought it an attempt at a haiku.

Lucca Wed 13-Oct-21 08:39:05

I thought it was song lyrics, like “oh susanna” maybe.

Lucca Wed 13-Oct-21 08:40:10

Oh dear I expect someone will be along to tell me I’m being condescending and critical of someone’s thread starter

Germanshepherdsmum Wed 13-Oct-21 08:50:41

I’m so fed up with this subject. Why another thread about it? The man’s entitled to a holiday with his family. There will always be one crisis or another and he can, and does, work whilst away. We have technology to enable that which is far more advanced than in, say, Blair’s day. If the loan of the villa has to be declared it will be. Is there anything else I haven’t mentioned? Oh of course, Goldsmith shouldn’t have all that money which buys such a wonderful villa and get such a good income from it and should never lend it to a mate, that has to be fishy. The rates he charges for a week would equal a deposit on a house. We should live in a communist state. Anything else? I do wish certain posters would ‘put a sock in it’. So boring.

Scones Wed 13-Oct-21 09:05:57

A lovely dead cat holiday ensure people bicker about that rather than concentrate on the damning report on the government's early response to Covid.

eazybee Wed 13-Oct-21 09:06:53

Is this meant to be blank verse?

Scones Wed 13-Oct-21 09:10:46

Golly. That's rich coming from someone who has just left a post entirely comprised of thing that have already been said ad infinitum on another thread.

Sarnia Wed 13-Oct-21 09:13:52

Where is he? Straightening his towel out on his sun lounger. Love him or loathe him, his timing is impeccable.

Lucca Wed 13-Oct-21 09:16:33

Final word

Precisely my point Scones, glad it got through to you.

Hetty58 Wed 13-Oct-21 09:17:16

I don't think it matters where he is, does it? He's useless anywhere!

Scones Wed 13-Oct-21 09:17:22

He's painting on his £25.000 holibobs. He learned it in Chapter 12 of his 'How to be Churchill when you grow up' book.

Josianne Wed 13-Oct-21 09:25:09

I was wondering about Mr. Churchill and his holidays.
Apparently he painted well over 500 scenes of places abroad - South of France, Greece, Italy, Morocco etc. This was during his time in office. There were a few hanging in one of the corridors of the House of Commons when I visited. Some better than others!
So when did he actually find time to work if he was so busy abroad and at that time without the benefits of Zoom or even mobile phones?

Maybe you could explain that philosophy to Boris Johnson?
