Last week I was taking in the washing because there were hundreds of harlequin ladybirds flying around and the white clothes on the line were covered in them. I was brushing them off and felt a sharp pain in my right index finger. Next morning my finger was very swollen, and was bright red, very itchy and painful. I asked for advice from a pharmacist and was told to go the A&E as my finger was infected. I was given antibiotics and told to go back if my finger got worse. Yesterday I had to go back as my finger was so swollen and sore and was purple down to the 2nd joint, and around the base of my nail was a line of pus. I had to have my finger lanced to get it cleaned up and to relieve the pressure. Today it is not so sore, but still looks terrible. -I was told to go back to A&E if it doesnt clear up by the time I finish the antibiotics, also to watch for a red line running down my finger. Very worried about it. I finish the antibiotics tomorrow, so hoping that things might improve.
