I need a pattern please!

Can anyone remember the little reversible pinafore dress pattern that many of us made in the seventies for our children? It was made out of two single pieces of material sewn together, and the back of the dress crosses over and then buttons on the shoulders. It was fantastic for toddlers as their bum wasn't covered with lots of material. I used to knock them up out of very little material, and they were great. I think it was a Simplicity pattern, but not sure. My DD now wants to make one for her DD with a view to making further ones for friends but we cant find the pattern. Any ideas please?

I typed in Reversible Pinafore Dress into the search engine and it came up with a range of options. One offers a free pattern. Hope you are in luck.

Maria Onion, a Danish pattern maker does lovely things for children though not sure if she does this one. The instructions come in English. Good luck with your search. How lovely that your daughter wants to make one for her Dd like the one she wore.

Can anyone help? A friend here in Italy wants a pattern for a traditional christening gown so she can "recycle" her wedding dress that's sitting in her loft.It doesn't have to be new! I've seen some online but some of the postage is extortionate, more than the price of the pattern.

Gosh I had forgotten that one..must have made half a dozen! Sadly I have not still got it..I looked for all my girl dress patterns when DGD born but they had all disappeared!

Hi,

I am hoping someone will remember a Woman's Weekly crochet pattern for a baby's matinee jacket. It was published about 30 years ago and I made it for my first daughter. It comprised crochet squares sewn together in pastel shades of pink, blue, lemon and green. It was my very first attempt at crochet. I now have a 7 week old granddaughter and would love to make it for her, but, sadly, cannot find the pattern. I kept it for years but it may have been mislaid in the last house move.

Bback in the 80s I had a pattern for a bolero, I suppose you would call it a shrug now. It was very easy and knitted all in one piece; just the side seams to join at the end. It had little cap sleeves & was ideal for a cover up for a strappy dress. I remember it was using chunky wool on big needles and could be made in a couple of evenings. Have looked online endlessly and not found it. So many are that odd shape with drooping long corners hanging down and they don't suit me. I wish I could find my pattern- does anyone have anything similar?

Nanapug - I recently bought a pattern that might be what you are looking for - It is Butterick B5625. I think I got it from a company called Jaycotts. Google them and you'll get the web address. Good Luck
