I should have mentioned sewing the squares uop one side to make a tube before gathering and stuffing. Sorry!
Picture of decorations is on my "profile" page.

I can't visualise the squares from your description baba, sorry. And I can't find the picture either, but I do like the idea of your small bunting squares. Could you please tell this computer illiterate how to find the picture?

Is that the picture of the little snowmen - very cleverly decorated small squares! Not what my small squares would look like as I would be lucky to get a pot holder. very pretty though.

I've managed the picture! Quite a triumph for a computer illiterate like me!

Bunting! Wonderful for all occasions. Choose the recipient's favourite colours and decorate appropriately. Christmas and Easter too!
Cast on 40 stitches on size 8 needles, knit in plain (or be more fancy if you wish) and cast off at each end of every third row. Join the tops across with chain crochet to make a length.
Decorations! for all occasions. Knit small squares, gather top and bottom and stuff. Decorate. Great for using up small scraps of wool.
I'll try to put pictures in my gallery.
