How does one do a P2tog tbl? I know it means through back of loops. But what loops? confused

Through the back of the stitch, Nanado. Holding your right needle, go round the back of the 2 stitches on the left needle and purl them together. Sounds odd, but that's what you do!

It's fiddly, I've just had a go on DD's cardi. I slightly stretched the two stitches to be worked by putting the needle in the front of the stitches and pulling down a bit. Then I put the right hand needle round the back of the knitting, pushed it through the second stitch and then tried to keep it on the needle while pushing the other stitch on to the needle. Does that make sense?

Tried it Marelli and I ended up with another stitch where my wool has gone over my needle. Where have I gone wrong?

Sorry grandmama totally lost!

Done it! I sat back and thought about what you both said, then the penny dropped. Many thanks [cupcakes] wine

Instead of poking the needle through the front of the two stitches that you are pearling together, poke it through the back of them - pull the wool through as normal and Bob's your uncle! It is slightly fiddly as you have to stretch the stiches a bit.

You've got it - well done!

These things are often a lot easier to do with the needles in your hand than to try to imagine how they are done.
