When clearing out the loft- oh what a job- I found a bag of old clothes & in it a sweater I must have knitted some time in the early 80s- the last time I picked up knitting needles.

It is a long sloppy joe with long sleeves & a V neck- although I also love slashed necks. It is all in knit (is that garter stitch from memory?)

Does anyone have a pattern for somethng like this- it must have been done on big needles as it is a very loose knit. I have looked in my local wool shop & found nothing like it. Or are there websites with patterns?

I gave up knitting when we had 6 cats! Kept them amused for hours & drove me mad. We only have 3 now so I may have half a chance of getting it done.

I dn't now why on earth I put it in the loft- I am lving in it now as is so snuggy.
Cheers

grandmaH What sort of gauge yarn is it? This site might help you decide so you can choose a modern pattern. The "wraps per inch" is most useful and may help you to fit the old yarn you have with modern yarn and pattern sizes better.
