Bristol Wool Fair - September 5th-7th

Well, the Bristol wool fair was lovely! I went and marveled and stroked lots of different balls of wool and was very very frugal. In my eyes. I bought four balls of Pure Somerset Mohair at £6 each (three delicious dark blue-black and one white) and have already finished my first mitt for myself and plan on making myself a tamoshanter - like jenny agutter in the Railway Children

I also couldn't resist one ball of variegated (?) wool that is purple and green - that will probably be a lacey cowl snood thing.

So I was good and didn't buy a whole fleece or take on any big projects - I knew the bank balance couldn't take it!

I might have to save up for next year!

oh, and the toilets were immaculate - something to do with a 90% mature female crowd??

Brendawymms Funny you should say that about never having too much - I found a forgotten large stash from the early 80's at the weekend. Hmmmm.

You can never have too much yarn. I have a PhD in yarn, that's projects half done. !

Ouch, that sounds annoying Maniac. The shoulder, not the yarn stash.

I am hoping to buy some carders at the fair - I've wanted some since about 1985 - and maybe get a fleece to spin. I feel I can justify it as I just threw out a moth-party-in-a-bag that was my last homespun wool from about 1987...

I wonder if I should suggest they have masseuse at the wool fair to deal with all the knitting-related injuries? So far it's just my thumb joints that complain.

I daren't go anywhere near the Wool Fair.Have always been into knitting and crochet but have enough wool/yarn to last the rest of my life.
Also I've had a painful shoulder for several months -advised not to knit at present.
